I agree. Over the weekend I noticed my popular sales item wasn't selling hardly at all, upon checking I noticed the price had been quickly undercut to 50% of the original price. This is killing my wallet.

The thing is that people see what your asking price is, and obviously buy what's cheapest. This forces you into a competition with other crafters, to see who can keep their items at the top of the list and it promotes undercutting.
lol I don't know how much crafting you do or how often you try to sell things but this is not the right approach. If we continue to lower our prices the way we have, there won't be any market left and gil will be useless
Square cant force people to not undercut you.
This is how a free market works. Jesus man what is wrong with people on this game.
Next thing you know you will be telling SE they have to buy your items because other people won't.
No it won't. You'll just be able to buy more stuff with less gil. If everything costs 100, 100 gil becomes a valuable amount to have. If everything costs 1000 gil, 1000 gil becomes a valuable amount.
Money wasn't useless when gas cost $1.00 per gallon just because now it costs $3.50, and gil won't be useless just because you're not raking in Big Numbers. All you're really asking for is to "fix" (as in loaded dice) the AH to serve you and screw others because you want to roll around in gil. Don't pretend the "health" of the market is your concern. Do grocery stores go out of business because they only make a few cents of profit on every item? Of course not.
A lot.
It is.but this is not the right approach.
No, that's not how the market works. Assuming demand remains static, as price continue to be pushed lower by oversupply, more and and more producers will stop production due to the lower profit, thus starting to decrease the supply, until the market reaches a equilibrium. If we continue to lower our prices the way we have, there won't be any market left and gil will be useless
The real problem here is that the way SE has set things up atm has resulted in an economy with limited demand - there is almost no demand for non-endgame gear due to the game throwing enough free stuff at people to cover all of Eorzea twice. And the endgame gear are either not good enough (militia), or too expensive (ilvl70+materia) for the majority of the player base. Add in a double whammy via the relative uselessness of materias due to there being no slot on dungeon gears, what you end up with is an economy that consumes very little.
It would be amazing if there ISN'T major undercutting with the way the system is setup.
Check their loadstone out, no crafting. Beside of just finishing AK yesterday nothing to note of. they is just trolling and they have been doing the same in multiple threads.
