Just a thought, but all the companies are supposed to work together to fight the oncoming doom. Not fight each other. ^^;
This was a lore Update. We still have Matsui's Battle Changes diary coming this week. If this type of update upsets you then XIV is going to upset you the entire time you play and it might be time you just cut your losses and leave. A lot of us are tired of hearing people complain about the things we actually enjoy. And that SE do right the first time 99% of the time (Story and lore.)This is not what this game needs. The future of this game is still very uncertain. They shouldn't be teasing us with stuff like this that dosen't really tell us anything. They should be providing clear information about what they plan on doing with this game. I'm tired of waiting for updates only to then still not learn anything.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
So create/join a new one. One where everyone is on the same Grand Company. I'm sure there will be events that include all Grand Companies. There are three right now, four when Ishgard is opens up (Dragoons!), and maybe five when Ala Mhigo is taken back and rebuilt.
The whole point of the Grand Companies is to create allegiances and work as a team something a lot of MMO's lack.
Also, you don't have to commit to one at first. You can try out each one before you swear fealty to one. Great idea BTW SE![]()

Has this sort of complaining gained you anything but a way to vent? Has SE become any more transparent for you? Just curious if this sort of thing is helping you or not. The communication of SE to the player base has been pretty good in comparison to other games. If you're feeling stressed out about updates and info not happening fast enough for you, I'd recommend a little time off. ^-^;This is not what this game needs. It is! Go do all the side-quests. Visit all the Hamlets! A lot of new quests came out with patch 1.17.Non-ls based content please. There's hardly anyone on my server so asking us to group up is a bit too much to ask with the current tools we have.

SE WOULD IT KILL YOU TO INCLUDE ALL THIS STORYTELLING IN THE ACTUAL GAME PLEASE?!!!?![/SIZE]
Why not let people see this info in the game in a newspaper or something? Or meaningful NPC dialogue for once?! Dammit it's so frustrating to watch the actual website of the game to beat the actual game it's about.
My LS is a little be more close knit than that. I only plan on carrying one or two extra LSs and that is only for communicative purposes. I know who I'd like to play with, I just want us all to enjoy whatever company we choose. =pSo create/join a new one. One where everyone is on the same Grand Company. So vote for just one and then go with that. Keep in mind the cataclysmic nature of the lore in this game. Who's to say a City-State will be around forever?
Yes, make the newspaper available in game too. That would be MUCH better.
