Info on the Lodestone!

You want me to take any interest in a side quest then make it worth my while. I'm not going to spend xx mins on a quest to get a brass ring, no matter how flowery the story attached to that quest is.

FFXI quests like the one for the Jaguar Mantle, or Sleepga II. Hell yes, give me those, they were fun and annoying and time-consuming but I got something from them.

Doesn't matter how puritan to SE you are, useless quest is useless.

I think a lot of those side quests should be considered low-ranking quests for newer players. I feel like a lot of what they have been changing is just getting ready for a re-opening of sorts. That doesn't mean there aren't things to do in the game. I work on several classes. Farm HQ materials. Explore. (Yes there is still stuff to look for!) And of course, await info and updates, then discuss a lot. =p There's always things to do, but I understand that we all want OTHER things too. ^-^ And we are slowly getting information on those things.

Information/lore does not = useless last time I checked. =p

Why not let people see this info in the game in a newspaper or something? Or meaningful NPC dialogue for once?! Dammit it's so frustrating to watch the actual website of the game to beat the actual game it's about.

Anyway I'm very excited about this ranked missions, and what it seems to be a reputation system for doing them.

Every MMO announces things on their web site first. This stuff will be in game eventually, this isn't a technique unique to Square Enix, and it's definitely not a poor technique. At least they have a site to use, unlike FFXI for the first how many years? It's about time they get up to date with the Internet.

XI did all of its announcements through POL and the POL website which you had to access to access the game they had no necessary reason for a dedicated community site at the time.

This is not what this game needs. The future of this game is still very uncertain. They shouldn't be teasing us with stuff like this that dosen't really tell us anything. They should be providing clear information about what they plan on doing with this game. I'm tired of waiting for updates only to then still not learn anything.

This was a lore Update. We still have Matsui's Battle Changes diary coming this week. If this type of update upsets you then XIV is going to upset you the entire time you play and it might be time you just cut your losses and leave. A lot of us are tired of hearing people complain about the things we actually enjoy. And that SE do right the first time 99% of the time (Story and lore.)

Yeah, Im getting annoyed at the fact when we FINALLY get good information on something epic for once, some people still have to whine about how its not in the game or theres not enough info. I remember someone telling me that, I just want any kind of information weather it be teaser video/Screenshots anything.. They do it same results happen :/.

Has this sort of complaining gained you anything but a way to vent? Has SE become any more transparent for you? Just curious if this sort of thing is helping you or not. The communication of SE to the player base has been pretty good in comparison to other games. If you're feeling stressed out about updates and info not happening fast enough for you, I'd recommend a little time off. ^-^;
