Elitist Much?!

Kind of a neutral outside view here being that i've tried to "over level", anyway before my dungeons. So, i'm glad to read these warnining posts about the issue "the good-the pushy-and the offended",I've cleared every FF title since (1).
In this MMO I have done the same thing and now I see it has spared me insults and what not in dungeons,(I havent played 11 though), so this is my first MMO anyway.
So my message to who's being called "elitist" would be to not be rude, you cant assume the character there thats not really ready actually did that on purpose-and realize that some peoples "MO" is trying to pull a fast one on the games content by doing what they say cant be done,
how many people do you know like that?,if you tell them its impossible to do something-they'le try harder.

Bards get turned down because there are 5 bards for every non bard. Everyone and their mother is a bard. Bards don't have a dmg LB so people don't like taking two bards to AK or 4 bards to titan. Bards are so heavily populated that most people already know the bards they want to run with and already have them in group so if your not one of those bards they turn you away gear or not.

Be it as it may, the post I replied to stated that on Midgard there's no such issue as ridicuouls gear requirements in PUGs and I am saying it's not true in the slightest.

And really, the group needs a DPS LB in CM which is why Bards aren't good enough? Are you kidding me?

Anyway, Midgard is rife with elitists, I imagine just like any other server in the game. Of course not everyone is a douche, of course you can find groups if you try hard enough, of course it's not the end of the world. But lets call a spade a spade, shall we?

I will call bullshit on this one. I am on Midgard, a Bard in full DL with an Ifrit bow (been farming Garuda for days now, no luck with the weapon drop; been working on Titan for days as well, groups just fall apart after several attempts). I've been turned down several times for CM speed run. I've shrugged and moved on, mind you, but these 'standards' ARE getting a bit out of hand if you ask me.

Well as one person said, bards have it bad on most servers because there are so many of them. And as far as being turned down for CM runs, you almost cant blame people at this point. SE has made only one place open to us for farming (yes I know you can AK farm but for fast DL its CM runs till your eyes bleed) Can you really get upset with people who want to run CM as fast as possible because they are already sick of farming? I will say it again, we only have 1 FC that claims to be elitist on our server, which is what the OP was complaining about most.

I here that argument a lot "LOl you don't NEED a dmg lb for Insert Dungeon Here". Sure you don't need it. You don't need a riding lawn mower to mow your grass either, but if you have one I bet your not going to choose to do it with a push mower. My point is that just because you don't need a DMG lb doesn't mean you don't want one. It speeds things up. The idea to a speed run is to do it as Fast as humanly possible, and it's faster with a DMG lb than without one. And DPS from a BLM vs a Bard isn't far off enough to say that brd dps over time is > than dmg lb for aoe on adds on CM's second boss etc.

Look, you've been saying that there's virtually no elitism on Midgard (except for one guild) and that's simply not true, which is what snagged my attention.

I am in full agreement that certain fights require certain level of gear; I don't want to see people with 2.7K health and lvl 30 jewelry in my Titan attempts anymore than you do. That's not elitism, that's common sense.

I do understand wanting to get through CM as quickly as possible; frankly if I never see that place again it will be too soon. And yes, like in any other game DPS is overpopulated and Bards are a large portion of it. But the groups I am talking about specifically asked about my weapon (after I've told them I am full DL) and upon hearing 'Ifrit bow' replied with a 'lol' or equivalent. For a CM run. You honestly think a Bard in full DL with an Ifrit bow would be a detriment in CM? Really?

Again, this isn't exactly the end of the world for me. I am simply saying that it seems you haven't encountered this problem but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

The insulting people could definitely approach this from a far better angle, at the same time however,
those being targeted by the rude, take my testimony and experience across all FF titles as an example.
Even when playing against "AI" by yourself it is definitely aggrivating to take a wipe, so what do you do? you go back,get a few more levels and then go get through that angry monster.
I'm saying the same thing applies here I've noticed,except that if you stroll into a dungeon under levelled its peoples you anger and not just AI.
I've enjoyed going in 2-3 or 4 ,sometimes 5 levels higher just for this purpose,with the usual sourpuss once in a while, its not been too bad.
I must tell the truth about FF tradition "the way the games content reacts" to different approaches of playstyle-has allways been that if you are not prepared, then it will call you out on that, sometimes I did however "get lucky" and do the impossible, its not very often.

I don't find many of these ppl elitists, just simple-minded, entitled, and selfish.

Example PuG shouts I see:
- Titan HM, Relic only (not a weapon farm advertisement, for clear to get Relic)
- Amdapor Keep SR 3/4 WHM or SCH Relic Only. (Do you really need a Relic healer for keep lol?)
- Amdapor Keep need (insert jobs) Full DL / Relic Only.
- Coil Turn 1 or 2, Relic Bard geared and xp'd. (Bard has a Relic and is wearing 4/5 AF1 /w Keep Accessories).

First example is basically shorthand for "We want people who have beaten the fight already", which is a perfectly valid request even if you disagree with it. There's always parties that do not require win proof shouting as well, join one of those.
Second and third examples are for speed run. And about relic healers, ever heard about Cleric Stance?
Coil Turn 1-2 "requires" silence and Bard is the easy mode silencer. Reason for gear requirement should be obvious.

Sorry but if I want people to have full DL deal with it. I want mt run go go better. Plus I see people with DL put more time in the game and to me that's what I like.

Just having full DL gear does not mean said person put more time in game you have to look at full scope of the character.example you have better gear and higher level than me on one class where I have higher levels on all my doh dol clases

Saying that you want exp/geared people in a pug doesn't make you elitist. Rarely every does anyone want to bother with that kind of thing if they just want to grab people who can do it and go. It would be a different story if they invited random pugs without giving specific reqs for the group and THEN harassing them over their gear/exp. That's the kind of thing you have to either: get your FC/LS to help you with or run it yourself with randoms in DF. People having those kinds of requirements for a hardcore raiding FC/LS isn't really elitist either, that's how most Hardcore guilds in other MMOs are anyway. At least they are nice enough to say what they want beforehand instead of leading you on only to give you a bunch of shit down the road.
