Seriously, why are people so elitist? It's just a game, i.e. not real life. It's not like in the real world people expect you to have skill or experience in order to get a job. I can walk in and be a doctor any day. Honestly, people.

If you had to choose between a million dollars and saving your best friend...what would be the first thing you'd buy?
I don't find many of these ppl elitists, just simple-minded, entitled, and selfish.
Example PuG shouts I see:
- Titan HM, Relic only (not a weapon farm advertisement, for clear to get Relic)
- Amdapor Keep SR 3/4 WHM or SCH Relic Only. (Do you really need a Relic healer for keep lol?)
- Amdapor Keep need (insert jobs) Full DL / Relic Only.
- Coil Turn 1 or 2, Relic Bard geared and xp'd. (Bard has a Relic and is wearing 4/5 AF1 /w Keep Accessories).
Why are people complaining about the elitist? if you do not like them don't join them easy!! your complaining just to complain!
To be clear, my comment is not complaining. I find these shouts entertaining while crafting and waiting for keep. Especially when I come back and they are still shouting for hours on end.
Blah blah blah elitist blah blah blah misused word.
Kicking a DPS from a titan group for having their AF gear on and aetheral rings is not being elitist, it's being factual. You factually cannot survive phase 5 tulmut with less than 3k HP.
"This makes people not want to join your shell or group or be your friend".
Good, if people have that attitude against us for asking them to have decent il60 gear from AK and to have attempted Titan HM or BC (that's experience) then we don't want to be your friend either.
Ever tried applying for a Good job, "Must have college degree and 8 years experience etc", it's the same concept. You want to join an FC with experience and progression expect to meet the requirements, no one likes to carry someone or retrain people. There are entry level jobs for that in the RL just like there are entry level FC's in the game.
RL concepts apply to an online game where people are setting goals and using their time to accomplish said goal. It's not just a game because your not doing it alone. In a single player game, fine, play the way you want. In an online game you need to meet expectations of others to play with others. If you don't like the expectations of them, then find others with expectations you are ok with.
Ok confusion about the OP, he doesn't even have a level 50 job. And being from Midgar myself, let me tell you the only shouts you see like that are for HM Titan and Coil runs. One of our BLMs did HM Titan 208 times mostly with groups formed on our server. So many people hit 50 and think they can just do AK and higher with AF gear and a handful of WP greens. Is that fair for the rest of us that have worked for our gear? Is your time more valuable then mine? I have a feeling, the OP being a tank, and a squishy warrior one at that, has been called out by multiple parties about his tanking skills. There is only one FC that claims to be elitist on our server, everyone else is pretty nice as long as you dont derp and know your job. Instead of lashing out at our server with "elitist" claims that read more like a complaint about how people are being mean to you, how about you just reroll as a dps, I think you might have better luck.
This right here...I totally agree. That's really sad... for my Free Company I invite a lot of new/low level players to give them an outlet for help. Something i wish I had in my first few levels of the game. I don't really understand why it makes such a difference to have experienced or high level players in a Free Company. If you invite new/low level players and build a good standing with them they'll be high level/experienced eventually and they'll remember your kindness and you are able to build a community of friendly players. Rather then surrounding yourself with a bunch of jerks that feel privileged to be apart of an Elitist douchegroup. :/
What's really sad is that players like IronLady are a rare breed these days...I only wish I could meet more people like this online...not a bunch of D-Bags like 90% of this games server population.
Thanks IronLady, you made my day, and helped me realize that this community isn't totally ruined yet![]()
I will call bullshit on this one. I am on Midgard, a Bard in full DL with an Ifrit bow (been farming Garuda for days now, no luck with the weapon drop; been working on Titan for days as well, groups just fall apart after several attempts). I've been turned down several times for CM speed run. I've shrugged and moved on, mind you, but these 'standards' ARE getting a bit out of hand if you ask me.

I agree with much in this. The way this game is set up, you CAN'T mathematically get past certain points without having X or Y gear; sad, but true. My beef with "elitists" are the people that when you use DF and say it is your first time, they quit. I know many people will say either that a) you shouldn't say it's your first or b) that they expect you to be experienced in it first. My response to these: a) I feel that is MORE harmful to my party, since they will assume I know the procedures and I will, out of ignorance of the dungeon, unintentionally cause problems. b) You can't expect a person to be experienced in something without first having done it. I watched garuda em videos before fighting her, yeah, but I only really learned it by doing it. This also reminds me of, "What do you need for HM garuda? Garuda wep."
Bards get turned down because there are 5 bards for every non bard. Everyone and their mother is a bard. Bards don't have a dmg LB so people don't like taking two bards to AK or 4 bards to titan. Bards are so heavily populated that most people already know the bards they want to run with and already have them in group so if your not one of those bards they turn you away gear or not.
In terms of pure DPS mechanics I prefer 2 blm or 1 blm 1 smn, 1/2 brd's, or 1 brd and 1 drg/mnk in titan. E.g. you want a dps to be alive that can use a DPS Limit Break at all times. If you take 3 brds and 1 blm to titan all you have is the AOE Limit and the melee single target limit does more dmg. So ideally your only going to have 1 brd in a titan run. Blm/Sum * 2, Mnk/Drg * 1, Brd. Also, I try to form Primal Runs with 1 of each class to prevent weapon drops from rotting, if you do someone is guaranteed to get their weapon.
