    This sounds good. Without changing our rotations, it would still allow us to better stay in the fight as it moves from enemy to enemy. If it had a maximum time of a minute, you could even have it last through an Ifrit jump, without otherwise being a bonus to do so (so again, no loss of core rotations / gameplay).

    LOL to all of you. I have proven multiple times that Monks are better then most DPS. The only DPS that even surpasses us is the BLM. Bards are only popular because they have good support factors. And too all people who talk about crit. dmg, pay attention because monks have the highest chance of landing crits. and on top of that monks dps is at a constant flow. I play my class very well and no all my rotations and the only real placement factor is from the side. Dragoons have to fight from behind, when monks can fight from behind and from the side. I would love to see how PvP works out, watching a monk and dragoon trying to hit each other from behind. And each attack hits 3 times over while other DPS is one solid hit. All in all I love playing as a monk and think it is a very great DPS.

    P.S: We also have good defense compared to our melee counter part the Dragoon, who is kind of a glass cannon.

    Parsed a few times tonight on Turn 4, monks are definitly in an good spot right now dps wise.

    Highest attack speed in game, very good dps on long term fights and huge burst potential as well.

    In Turn 4 for example for the first dreadnought (starting with GL3 already) :

    Dragon kick,potion, twin snakes,crit active, demolish, stun,touch of death, perfect balance, snap snap snap. It's just an amazing feeling to see all those 550-690 damage every 1.5 sec or so.

    Monks are pretty balanced now but if christmas is coming one day my wishlist :

    - Increased duration of GL3

    - Give us a skill to reduce threat !!!

    In turn 4 it's just completely impossible for a tank to keep up in aggro with us without loosing the other add or having us switch target earlier.

    ps gryphone gear compared to Dl, the Difference is huuuuuuuuuuugeeeeeeeee your dps will increase by a lot. But here some problems.

    Gryphone peace costs 1,4 mil on my server and it not even a HQ, rings costs 2 mil. You need materia and luck to use it 5 time on 1 gear.

    Getting that gear is good for coil, but if you dont have a group why bother. Dk is good enough for grinding tokens.

    the timer of the GL is not the trouble, they need to take out the damage boost from it...

    Why don't we have a Chakra Orb ranged attack or something? If we're so in tune with our Chakra/Aetherial energy, why can't we manifest is as some kind of ranged attack? Other than that, the only major gripe I have is Shoulder Tackle's stun, and long as crap cooldown.

    err you know that DRG can do the same?

    a small example:
    True Thrust> Leg Sweep> Vorpal Thrust>Power Surge>Full Thrust>Jump
    all of this in 3 skill gcd.
    Full thrust and Jump will have a 300 potency each.

    indeed a monk well equiped will be close of 2.1 of GCD, a DRG well equiped is around 2.4, means 6.3 for the monk and 7.2 for the dragoon. indeed you hit faster, but in burst you can't beat a drg... sorry to say this.

    about the DoT you can have 3 DoT with fracture for the monk and same 3 DoT for the Dragoon.
    let's see the potency.
    - Fracture: 20 potency
    - Touch of Death: 25 potency (monk)
    - Demolish: 40 potency (monk)
    - Phlebotomize: 20 potency (drg)
    - Chaos Thrust: 20 potency (drg)

    yep on this you win, sadly it's not enough for make up for the direct damage.
    the only time a MNK will win is on very long fight outside this, on short fight, DRG will have more damage that normal since it's more a burst one.

    ps: and the mnk need to maintain GL without loose it, on some fight is almost impossible.

    OP clearly never parsed his MNK against other classes, as monk will consistently out-parse any drg.
