[Dev Help Please] Character Transfers Early

I saw somewhere that the transferred character will be prompted to rename upon logging in. Can't find source so, meh.

That's what SE has done in the past (FFXI, FFXIV). If there's a conflict, it asks you to pick another name the first time you log in to that world.

The two times FFXIV has done transfers before, it's been like this where lots of people would be choosing lots of destinations all at once. Instead of individual requests, there was an application period, and a Web page where you could see each world's population and if it was accepting transfers. (Those statuses could change during the application period.) When the application period ended, they did all the transfers while all worlds were offline. Maybe this time will be the same.
