Brayflox Cavalry Set

Hello all,

I wanted to post this on the Tank section, but I guess 38 isn't high enough. Simple question: How long is the Cavalry set from Brayflox useful? I've been told that it can carry you to the begining of your AF set. Is this true? My main concern is I am lv 38 and am only missing the boots. Now, I love running this dungeon. I have yet to get a bad group through DF. Personally, I'm willing to keep running it because I love the appearance, but I don't want to get my boots and find out that they set is obsolete.

Can anyone confirm the lifetime of this set?

I was told that Battle Mage set was up until 45. I've started phasing pieces out though with drops from various other places but It's been good so far. I did give up on the gloves which were the only pieces I needed and just went with some HQ gloves.

I think up into Stone Vigil. If you get the aetherial gears there, it's a small upgrade. I too farmed for my full Cavalry and Infantry set.

Thanks guys for the input. I swear those boots are my white whale. I feel like a park ranger in that instance I've run it so many times.

As far as looks are concerned they are good. But I wouldn't say they are good, gears until 45. I would say they are ok/decent gear. I'm working on my battle mage gear right now but once i get the 38 gear, i'll be switching out those pieces. Sure i'll still rock the battle mage gear because it looks awesome. But when i do dungeons I liked to be prepared on my whm

Just looking at the items on xivdb.com, Cavalry should last you well into the 40's. There isn't anything with higher defense until the heavy armor set at level 44 or if you manage to get an Aetherial Mythril Cuirass, and you can get most of your AF armor at level 45.

So yeah, it lasts quite a while.

Evil, evil battlemage. I have everything BUT the robe and hat, which I've never even see drop. I could have 3 full sets of cavalry/infantry at this point.

I've done Brayflox about 15 times now. I've only ever seen the belt pop for the Battlemage set, and that only twice. Forget about winning a lot, I can't even get the pieces to actually be in a coffer.

I had a pair of the boots from my first Brayflox run. I wore those until I found a HQ crafted set that beat them. That was about 7 levels. Then I traded for a complete Sentinel at 44 which only lasted until lvl 45 and you complete the PLD quest.

So I've run glablefrax about 20 more times, I've got a full set of infantry and all of the cavalry but the chest.. Haven't seen ONE piece of battlemage gear drop this entire time.. WOW
