    Why?

I mean I rarely stare in bewilderment at my screen but why the flying forge would being able to dye Dropped armor be a bad thing? I can see Materia needing to be "Balanced" In some way, but seriously what would making them dyable do except make a large portion of players happier and maybe stay the wave of Clones you see at level 50?

Half of this game is Vanity like most MMOs(Pets, Mounts, etc), So I simply cannot understand why dyes should not be allowed on high end gear. I can see the argument for AF/Relic gear holding water what with em being FF history etc... But the other stuff... Should absolutely at the least be dyeable.

I like Darklight Armor, It looks nice, But I'd personally prefer it in a Dark Purple or a Red. I have those options on my Grandma Robes, but the few pieces of gear that actually look good and I'd care about dye-ing are undye-able... and that just sad. Nothing negative can come from allowing Dropped/Bought Green Tier+ Armors to be dyed.

    Actually, big no here.

Some green sets will let you dye them, others won't. I think its because of whether or not the set has a unique design to it.
AK's set you cannot dye. This, for monks, is called Peltist.
Palace's set on the other hand allows you to dye it, as I've done plenty of times. This set is called Siphani for monk.

And no, you can't craft them.

It's iconic gear that represents the job and shouldn't be recolorable. Only the more generic, not-necessarily-class-specific gear is appropriate to be dyable.
    >_> Each person's individual enjoyment of their own character is more important than your enjoyment of someone else's character. In other words, it does not matter one single bit if you don't want to see someone else in pink or yellow gear. It matters what that person who owns the character wants for their character.

Honestly, I don't see the point in the fact alot of sets aren't dyable nor can you put materia in them.

Materia-able items have a stat cap anyway, you can't go over a certain amount of 1 stat in that item regardless, so really, I don't see a point if every item is stat capped at a certain hardcap anyhow.

ALso there are a very few green sets that drop you can dye, I personally have been able to dye the Siphani set from Wanderer's Palace.

Honestly it mostly feels like DoH wanting to feel more and more special, they can already craft and materiaze items that are better than Darklight, why not corner the market on customization as well?

I would like the helm on the 2 piece chest/helm combo piece to either be separate (so you can actually turn your neck), or be able to hide the helm. The current design is very lacking!

Yes, my wife refuses to get darklight chest over her Hoplite chest because if this very fact. She says she'll get af+1 chest first before anything solely because darklight is just bleh.

Yeah, so-called "iconic" costumes you can't dye can just go ahead and die in a fire. I have exactly zero interest in seeing hundreds and hundreds of characters all running around in exactly the same gear, with no variations. My God, that would be boring and bland.

I also have to agree with wanting DL heavy armor to not be a 1 piece outfit. I don't wear helmets on my characters, and never have. DL heavy looks stupid.

Not to mention the fact that the female roeg marauder concept art has her not wearing a helmet with the heavy darksteel set, false advertising much?

Dye is mostly for crafted gear
    Materia is for crafted gear

See AF as an uniform for the job. You can also not dye twin adder uniform red or a maelstrom uniform yellow.

Glad to see some support for the DL Tanking pieces... They should be separate like every other class. Two Piece tank gear is the most idiotic thing ever fathomed. I mean why... Just why SE?

I too am going AF1 Chest first, hoping I can get enough Behemoth's for the tank helm from there or AF1 Chest/Head... BUt this will slow me down on Relic +1, will take months. Luckily I got a Weapon from Garuda HM on the first so I'm not too concerned with Relic+1.
