So i finished my PLD... After my WAR

Finished my WAR, got Full Darklight, Garuda Weapon.. etc etc Was having fun tanking things for my FC didn't have any issues or complaints about survival/agro.


I finished my PLD on Friday, got the Grand Company Weapon and shield.

Went into Garuda/AK so far with it and...

WAR now feels like a shitty DD with high HP's


But hey! at least they share the Darklight set.

I'll disagree with this. PLD is the better tank class, but WAR has a bit more damage. Assuming you have decent gear (and similar weapons for both classes) you will have CM and AK in farming mode. In this case I'd stack the 30 attribute points into STR for my war (+~7.5% dmg) and equip him with internal release, equip +str accesories I might have over +vit ones (there are some nice darklight ones if you bought them), use damage skills proactively (unchained, steel cyclone, etc) and use him to farm faster.

apparently, you havent even learnt steel cyclone at all. so your post is irrelevant.

It's worthless for tanking. It's useful for dealing extra damage in a farming run against multiple mobs. Or would you rather spend that 5 stack wrath on an IB you don't need because your healers are keeping you topped off? Assuming you are against 2 or more mobs, you're getting more juice out of SC.

And yes, CM is better off with an extra bit of dmg rather than a tank who is a bit better, because it is a farming run and nobody cares if your health never dipped below 60% instead of 40%. L2 prioritize.

if you wanna do dmg against multiple mobs?
take off defiance and use overpower.

a skill on a 15~22.5cd, who cares if it does 200dmg or not. it takes too long to even use.

and no, CM dont require warrior's pathetic dmg under defiance.

besides, pld is just 10000% times easier for training two packs of mobs to cannon, try to do it in DF with AF healer, you could die in 3sec if you got stunned.

and pld's stun is best against the giant robot pat at the cannon, pld could chain stun it, war has a high chance to fuk it up and let it destroy all the cannons with one AOE.

I don't have a 50 PLD. I'm doing WAR for quicker queues, and in my circle of MMO friends, I'm currently the only tank. Two of them are leveling PLD because they didn't like BRD and SMN respectively. I wouldn't even want to risk trying to slot my WAR and handicap my friends, if I could just let them tank. Which is what I'm doing by swapping to DPS.
