    Let me condense what the TC is saying in less words:

    1.) You cannot use a skill until the current animation ends. So an ability that is off the GCD still must respect this horrible aspect of the game.

    2.) A skill's effect will not occur until after its animation ends. So an ability that has no cast time still must respect this horrible aspect of the game.

    Also made a bug report about it, too bad it went to "working as intended" section right after.
    Dunno what else to do.. maybe we should all report this bug over and over repeatedly so SE finally reconsiders their "intentions" with these horrible mechanics.

    Video is spot on. And you're right. Probably the only way it'll change is if a extreme majority of us want it changed. Otherwise, it's working how they wanted it to :|

    well I can't believe its actaully working as intended, because using interupts is utterly impractical amongst other things

    Yeah, I wish they put it back to when it was useful to utilize faster WS(feint and savage blade) to pop instants... made a more interesting combat mechanic.

    The exact same problem was the downfall of SWTOR for many, many players (myself included).

    Despite the fact that devs have stated this is working as intended, I honestly hope that they will change it before more and more people start to realize how 'broken' (in quotes here) this is and leave the game.

    If they want the animation to play before the ability goes off, perhaps they should have just said it is an 'instant' ability and remove the 'off global cooldown' portion (even tho in reality the 'cast time' does not abide to the GCD restriction).

    The problem is there are too many people coming from 1.0 or XI and they see this as an improvement over those games, so it is hard to deliver a clear message for SE, because they start defending it...

    except those combat systems were slower, you had all the time in the world to weave in instant abilities, but with the speed up of combat the animation lag is just awkward and makes combat clunky.

    So, they removed position lock while performing actions from 1.x but refuses to let skill lock down while performing another action go?

    They let teleporting bots run rampant, letting them set their own position on the map as they please but isnt letting players dodge aoes on client side?

    I really can't believe this is "working as intended." FFXI had an animation lock that was absolute hell, and now Yoshi et al. want to bring it over here? What's so hard about immediately stopping an animation and running another one?

    I'm so tired of DPSing on BRD and not being able to hit Bloodletter immediately after Straight Shot. Having to sit there spamming the hotkey is extremely annoying.

    Consider this a well-deserved bump.
