Honestly i played tons of different mmo. And all guilds, clans, legions, what ever you call them are all the same in the end privet chat rooms.

ffxi's community is alot like ffxiv is. People do not do random parties anymore they stick to their LS's.

the only mmo i've seen with guild housing was mabinogi. The players are the ones who decide how the guild LS etc is set up and for what purpose, we do not need a ton of stuff to set up events. Barely anyone in WoW used the guild calander system. Or reeally used the member rank system fully.

ps I ment scraped not crap XD my s didn't go thru.

Kita if the content we get in this game was based off of only what we "need" and nothing that we "want" would it be trying to be a successful game? =p

Why is it bad that people want something more to do with their LS companions? It would be easier content to implement than several other options. And would easily make people enjoy the game further.

Not every game is the same either. ^-^; You can't say they're just all the same and they mean nothing. Only the players can decide what matters to them. I'm sure all those other MMOs you've played have people that really enjoy their guilds, linkshells, and what have you, as well as the activities based around them.

It's true that LSs have the ability to determine purposes/goals and people that are in it can follow those. But it would be nice to feel more established than just this loosely based verbal thingy we have going.

A lot must have changed since I left. I played FFXI for four years, and everyone I knew pugged (PUG = Pick Up Group). It was rare I got to do any leveling with my LS mates. Of course, that was before the level sync system.

Kilta, why is it every single post you make is full of incorrect information? EVERYONE in a raiding guild in WoW uses the in-game guild calendar. It is indispensable for setting up your weekly raids, and is accessible both in game and from the online Armory.

Many of my friends I used to play with back in FFXI complained that LSs didn't feel like real guilds that you find in other MMOs. That feeling is even worse in FFXIV.

The point the OP is trying to make is that he's hoping we get something more robust than what you've aptly termed a private chatroom. So do I.
