That's a witty comment but only if I was even remotely talking about competing with MMO's
The person I replied to said Tanaka has not experience with any MMO outside of FFXI. Your comment is troll bait.
People need to learn the definition of trolling. I know what you were replying to. I'm saying, for the time he made XI, that was enough. For XIV, it's not enough. Does that have anything to do with you? If not, why take it personally. It's called having a conversation. I'm adding my thoughts. I'm not attacking you.
Also, to anyone asking about Tanaka's vision (like this needs to be said or done) try reading the thread or clicking on the link I'm about to post.
Tanaka's Vision
Take a look and see if there's anything in there Tanaka promised you that you'd rather have than larger monsters.
The bottom line is (for a lot of people) this new battle system we've waited 6 months for better be something, because if it's another broken promise or ridiculous run around, I'm guessing this game is as good as done. Yoshida has yet to produce a vision. He's yet to tell us what he even intends to do with the battle system, though we were promised that we would hear from Akihiko Matsui in the "near future" and that was over a week ago.
Perhaps he means "near future" relative to when the game will be good and not in the general sense of the term, or it was just lost in translation.
I liked where Tanaka was going with this broken piece of crap of a game more than ... the hints and vague comments about where Yoshida is taking it. Trust me, I'm a rampant Tanaka critic. I think he ran XI into the ground for too long and I think he made some pretty giant mistakes with XIV, but when I read about the game he intended to make I like what I read. When I read the game Yoshida intends to make ... oh wait, I haven't read that yet. 5 months and still waiting.
Tanaka may have had vision, but vision doesn't make shareholders happy profit does Yoshida's must be to make this game profitable or they might as well shut this down.People need to learn the definition of trolling. Square has made this mistake before Vision VS Profit, with the Spirit within which I think caused there fall thus causing the merge, lets hope they don't drag Enix with them this time. If they do who should they merge with this time.

You say that (and that's easy to say) but give me evidence of Yoshida making the game profitable.Tanaka may have had vision, but vision doesn't make shareholders happy profit does Yoshida's must be to make this game profitable or they might as well shut this down.

Compare and contrast Yoshida's last list to the one I provided. Which one sounds better to you?
Tanaka, Dec 2010 vs Yoshida, Feb 2011
Notice I had to go back to February just to find Yoshida's because it was 5 Letters ago (3 mo ago).
Notice everything in Tanaka's letter would have been done by February (March at the latest) if he'd stayed on.
So all Yoshida's done is work on this battle system, then the battle system better be pretty good - because if it's just XI and/or WoW's battle system slapped together and thrown into XIV, I imagine "shareholders" aren't going to be too happy about that, either.
PS - and by shareholders I mean me.
Buhahahaha someone must forget about what Tanaka really did... ALL THE TIME IN FFXI! Oh look at all this stuff I am promising, date passes, we don't see product, 6 years later, we still don't see product... man Tanaka what a great vision of lieing to your users.... and then He doesn't even mention those promises ever again hoping we forget about it... and we don't and he doesn't come through for us...You say that (and that's easy to say) but give me evidence of Yoshida making the game profitable.

Sure, but look at what I linked and look at the "December" portion. Were any of that lies? I also said "no later than March" which gives him the benefit of having a quarter of a year to get it together rather than 2 months. How many times has Tanaka said "I'll get you something" and then didn't. I can think of 1-2 times in XI explicitly. How many can you think of and name?Buhahahaha someone must forget about what Tanaka really did... ALL THE TIME IN FFXI! Yes, he lied about things he could have done but didn't want to (for some reason). I'm not saying he didn't mess up, or that he didn't break promises. He did. But everything on that list on the December side was in this game before Yoshida took the reigns... and everything after it (unless he was setting up Yoshida to look the fool) has nearly been forgotten or pushed off to some unknown date and time, so Yoshida can "fix" systems without telling us how or when he plans to do so.
Tanaka has some serious bad things about him. I'm asking which of the two lists I gave you sounds better. It's not a loaded question. You already know which I think is better. Tell me honestly, which YOU Yoshida fans think looks better.
..... He has been adding in a lot of story content.... THats what all these sidequests are and now we are getting company's.... I have found so much more to do since February in the game... I don't know what game you are playing but he is adding in content first.... and why 4 months later we are getting the start of the battle system... I mean even more content he has added... World NM's which we didnt have before either... All more content in the game to do then what was at release....

By use of shareholders I was mainly referring to the business aspect and not really your fun and enjoyment since those people more or less don't care. Every game wants to be profitable, though not fixing this will cause their reputation to basically be In ruins. You say that (and that's easy to say) but give me evidence of Yoshida making the game profitable.

About the battle systems isn't this what community asked for? But It has, should be more like, other mmo’s. If this turns out to be a horrible failure it’s the communities fault though they will complain anyways saying that the developers didn’t listen correctly.
Edit: This is Final Fantasy I guess by releasing this game the way it was Im guess they expected us to be content with graphics, since if you play FF you must be a graphic "3am girl"(You know what I mean can't use that word here I don't think) even if its just a little.

Of course, bro, and when I said "me" I meant the player base, because if this battle system sucks or pisses off HALF of the remaining players, what's the future of this game? I think there's a lot riding on this battle system for me, for you, for the game, for the shareholders. Players are what fuel the business. They may have different desires (I want fun. Shareholders want a return on their investment.) but the two exist in harmony, theoretically, or they don't exist at all.By use of shareholders I was mainly referring to the business aspect and not really your fun and enjoyment since those people more or less don't care. The developers didn't listen. Battle wasn't what players wanted most. They didn't even REALLY ask what kind of battle system we wanted. They certainly aren't sharing with us their ideas for a battle system. They said 1 word "auto-attack" and the internet exploded into (what appeared to be) 2 even factions; the I hate auto-attack and the I love auto-attack (and maybe the "idk, I'll see it when it's released and judge it later" group).
Here's the poll results taken on the battle system (sorta): Battle System Poll Results
Go ahead and read through that and see if you have a general idea of what's going to be implemented in June. Also, if you know, tell me what kind of battle system comes out of a handful of vague questions, because I'm dying to know and no one on the dev team will tell me, yet.
I never said it was first but its on the list, but if it fails a monster the community made this and there going to have to live with it.Of course, bro, and when I said "me" I meant the player base, because if this battle system sucks or pisses off HALF of the remaining players, what's the future of this game? About storyline forget it, anything they give you will be a disappointing anyways Hironobu Sakaguchi left remember.
