Remove auto-logout feature

First off, everyone didn't ask for it. And auto log-out is the dumbest thing i have ever heard of in a mmo. Just because some less then stellar people tend to be more vocal then others doesn't make it a majority issue. I shouldn't even have to be posting right now, like i didn't post to people asking for it saying "What are you 12? or on a xbox?". But a few less they stellar people had to spam a moronically bad idea.

That's funny, i'm paying for the game just as you. And if i wish to sit there and stare at the screen for an hour, i should have the right to. Stop dictating how i play my game.

Except you're playing an on-line game, you have the right to sit and stare the screen for hours, weeks and days but then you'd spending your money for that? Also, people need to log in, people who actually won't stare the screen like you do.

With all these measures it takes a few seconds to log on after you got dc'd for being afk, read your text again and it you'll see it's you who's trying to dictate the game, not the community.

I like how they fixed the servers, THEN implemented the totally now useless AFK disconnect.

I still occasionally got 1017 on Tonbery server at prime time. Hope this feature reduce it

This is why auto logout is needed. Even though some people may not be currently affected, there are still some servers having 1017 issues.

Actually, most modern day MMOs DON'T have this feature anymore, because like I said in the original post, this day and age, it isn't needed.

Since you said "most" I'm guessing that means more than one or two. Care to name five MMO's that don't have auto disconnect for AFK'ers?

What is it people like you don't understand? My god... Limited available connections being used up by people AFKing the entire day is a problem. If you can't understand that you need to kill yourself.

Actually, if you had read the Final Fantasy XIV User Agreement (http://support.na.square-enix.com/ru...1&tag=users_en) you would know that your statement is inaccurate. You do not in fact have the right to "play the game however you wish." Specifically, I imagine that walking away from your keyboard for extended periods of time can be considered disruptive, in that it prevents others from logging in who wish to make more active use of the service.

This is not to say whether or not I agree with the OP or whether the logout timer is too short, or whether it should exist at all, however no one has the right to do anything in this game. You accept an agreement when you log in for the first time, and you continued playing of the game is contingent upon that agreement.

I'm not sure if you are less then a stellar person or just horribly uneducated when it comes to social ideologies, But "self Entitled" would be you thinking you deserve someones spot because you disagree with how they play their game. Also, no where in the Tos does it stat i have to be moving to be online. Yes, i choose to play this game as i wish, and may mean watching out over the water for an extended period of time not moving.

They bought the game, just like you did, it's not like buying a seat at a concert....if you're going to go to work for 8 hours, then yes, someone else is entitled to be able to play the game they paid for when you aren't. It's not like SE is booting you after an hour of actually playing.

Goddamn this community never ceases to amaze and totally embarrass me at the same time. Brilliant.
