Remove auto-logout feature

I believe this will only keep "honest" players out. It is a matter of time before people abusing 3rd party software have a program to move their character every 20 minutes to beat the 30 timer. I think the better option is to only give the resting XP bonus to people who LOG OUT in a sanctuary. Make actually logging out rewarding. No bonus xp for afk at sanctuaries.

No offense, but in this game there is no reason for anyone to "honestly" be standing around doing absolutely nothing for more than 30 minutes. That's well past enough time to use the restroom, get something to eat/drink, answer the phone, change a diaper, etc. Anything past that and you're actually not even playing the game and should have no active connection to a server with limited login capacity. If you're worried about not being able to log back in then the kick timer needs to be in place to kick players like you from just standing around and filling up the server.

I believe my ideal would be 1 hour. I can't see any reason for anyone to complain about 1 hour.

If you're not playing for half an hour you shouldn't be logged in.

I want to chime in here. I definitely feel the AFK timer is a required feature for this game. If someone isn't actively playing, then why stay connected to the server? That is a pointless connection to the server that only adds to server strains. 30 minutes is a hell of a lot better than games like world of warcraft, that log you out after around 5 minutes. 30 minutes is very generous and it's enough time for me to step away to use the bathroom, get a drink, or even warm up a snack in the microwave.

So I definitely feel the afk timer should stay put, the time alloted is more than sufficient to get a couple real world things done before getting back to the game.

We do not have any plans of eliminating the automatic logout feature at the moment. However, we would like to keep an eye on the conditions now that it has been implemented, and if we determine that adjustments can be made we will look into extending the time before you are automatically logged out.

Thanks. I just wanted to say I don't mind an Auto-Logout, but I vote for "1 Hour" for Logout, as the ideal sweet spot. There are times something comes up and then get some food or other things and come back, and 30 minutes feels a tad too short. (We miss out of potential /tells or FC / LS Chat when we get logged out.)

To be fair increasing the time would an alright idea, then no one can complain because it wont affect DF hardly because most people get a group whiten the hour , but i would say no more than that.

Having it on by default. Most people would probably not turn it off. I admit that my "free gameplay style" comes from playing FFXI and FFXIV 1.0. It might feel good anyway if they increase the time to 1+ hour. But for me it was very surprising that SE actually implemented this. And im one of those who log out when going to work or when i sleep. Just find it a bit annoying during the day to not be able to follow things that comes up in LS/FC or whatever, because of also doing things irl back and forth.

Considering that the standard MMO logs out AFK users after 10-15 minutes, 30 minutes is more than generous, if not gratuitous. The fact that there was none in place at launch was simply oversight. If you're away from the game, you need to be logged out to reduce undue stress on the server for those that are actually playing. It's really a simple matter.

If I go eat food or do some cleaning whilst waiting for LS event, I'd like to know what has been said in LS chat or in /tells to me whilst I was afk. You are destroying my game immersion and LS team spirit!
