Kiting wasn't an "automatic win", that's why it took skill. A good kiter also added in casted nukes and other debuffs/dots while kiting to speed it up.

No. Kiting was easy, which is why you won with it.
Kirin should have always wiped all of you. You clearly weren't good enough to beat it legitimately.
Now if there's a Kirin, you can't chickenwuss it to death. Hopefully.

It took skill yes, but once you had that skill you could beat anything in the game given enough time. If they want to add that type of mechanic where learning a skill makes you win, it needs to be more than one class, like i said right now you can kite and win even more than before, thats why they threw the leash in place, In alpha you could kite infinitely, and all the ranged people abused it. think about it
you get back hp and mp while not in combat
you can move even more during casts than before
your run speed is equal to monster speed, but they arent as good at pathing.
Im not opposed to some tactical kiting here and there, but running in circles for 1.5 hours to defeat a monster is basically cheesy
if they didnt have ranged attacks, there would be virtually no risk at all
