People need to understand the game is only 2 weeks old. Are people racing for world firsts? I mean I get pallys can tank it now, and yeah that sucks but oh well. We'll do fine in lvl80 gear, and if not then we know it's a problem.
ok so when 24 man raids come out, u want us to sit around and wait until we somehow miraculously get the same ilvl items for that dungeon so that we can tank that dungeon? sorry man, doesnt make sense
Do you even know what ilvl the 24 man content is going to drop? My guess is its going to be equal to BCoB if not MAYBE slightly higher. I am glad that your guild was able to jump from ilvl 70 content to ilvl 90 content but that doesnt mean that the rest of the player population can. Granted SE should have gotten the ilvl 80 content ready for players before releasing the ilvl 90 content, but thats another story.

is there even ilvl80 content? i dont think there is
I can't speak on endgame, but I can say that if you need to be spam healed huge heals as a tank in Stone Vigil, you're not rotating your CDs or you're in subpar gear. I've ran through there in pug groups with no issue (and no CC) pulling full packs with little to no issue.
What I'm seeing in this thread is people saying "Well, if the Warrior had better gear..."
It's really an irrelevant point. If Paladins are able to do it as the OP states, then it is pretty damning for a Warrior to be unable to do it with gear being equal. With superior gear, why would you change anything? A Paladin would simply become even better while the Warrior becomes acceptable. If the OP's assertion is correct, why would you ever want a Warrior to tank these and is that not the definition of imbalance?
I find it worth mentioning that a WAR buddy of mine cleared Coil's 1st turn on Gilgamesh yesterday. Not sure whether he was main-tank or off-tank, or whether he switched between those roles throughout the instance. Just know that his group cleared it, so it's definitely possible. I'll have to talk to him to find out how he felt about Coil while playing as a WAR, though.
What you are seeing in this thread is a discussion of how 20% damage mitigation can make up for 10 to 15 ilvl's of gear. What I'm seeing in this thread is people saying "Well, if the Warrior had better gear..."
