I have almost a mil now also, doing quests, playing the market, crafting etc and im only lvl 45... also a TON of gil is constantly being injected into the game. There is a constant stream of fates that are taken down within 1-2 minutes of popping. Each of these gives the 50-100 or even more players zerging them 50-90 gil a each.

If you look at the small picture 60-100 gil per fate doesnt seem like much but when you realize 50-200 players all are getting this reward constantly per fate and among several zones it adds up to hundreds of thousands of gil per hour. Add the gil from duengon runs, quests, selling trash mats/ items to shops from monster drops...

Im just not seeing the problem people complain that its hard to make money but it just isnt true.

Ok, now just take into consideration the fact that you will then need to repair all of your gear at some point, making that gil you just made from fates pretty much invalid.

It seems that it's only affecting certain individuals.
Friend keeps complaining that no matter what he does, he's got too much gil on 50 dungeons. *shrug*

Without doing crafting, or harvesting, or anything other than progressing through the main storyline (and side quests along the way), I am consistently sitting at about 70k, and thats after buying gear every few levels off of the market place and teleporting everywhere (not to mention repair bills for repeated wipes in the storyline instances). Questing provides quite a lot of disposable income.

Obviously harvesting and crafting also provide benefits (crafting will let you repair your gear for a song, so if repair bills are high for you, this would be an ideal situation)

    Gold Generators:
    - Quests
    - Fates
    - Leves
    - Dungeons

    Gold Sinks:
    - Repairs
    - Auction House
    - Teleports

There is a big difference between generating gold to the overall economy and generating gold for yourself. The main issue that people are discussing focuses on the long term economy of this game and given that most of the gold generation comes from questing, as the servers become filled with level 50 characters and new players stop coming in, the amount of gold in the servers is going to be depleted by repairs and teleports.

This thinking is a bit flawed because at lv30+, the gil reward for fates are lower than the repair cost of doing the fate itself. The repair cost are taken out of economy...

My biggest fear is, with gil being harder to obtain, "Gil selling" is going to be a constant nuisance because as gaming has become casual people dont have time to "make gil" anymore, so people will buy it. If gil was stupid easy to get, no one would need/want to buy it. FFXi is a good example: Old FFXI (pre-abyssea for people who still play/ed) gil was hard to come buy, end game ran the show.. but as soon as abyssea was introduced and end game content was lowered/eliminated gil is much much easier to make, and gil selling/tells have gone down so dramatically.. Even though game population has as well, i think this played a huge role in dialing it down.

Now 14 should either make gil needed to only a very small degree.. (ax repair bills, make most items farmable etc) or they need to make it much much easier to obtain it with minimal effort and costs ( gil needed to even start crafting etc)

Also nothing should NPC for less then 100 gil, 1 gil is just silly at least give us something

A miner at 40 and still not making any gil? That doesn't make sense at all.

You are probably one of those people who don't know how to use the MB and try to sell stacks of 99 for 100k+ instead of splitting them up into 10k stacks which people are more willing to buy.
