New Character Creation

I'm still amazed that this is even occurring. I have never seen an MMO lock out people from creating a character on a server that is otherwise running and playable. Add to that the fact that some of these servers haven't been unlocked at all in days, and the situation is terrible. I imagine a lot of players are simply leaving over this, which is bad news for the overall longevity of the game.

I don't think Hyperion has been unlocked since the game went live.

My understanding is that the bottom 7 or so servers have been on and off in the first couple of weeks but no one has seen them open even for a minute in the last 3 or 4 days.

Moogle(EU), Ultros(NA), Behemoth(NA), Cactuar(NA), Excalibur(NA Legacy), and Hyperion(NA Legacy) have all been perma-locked.

Please unlock these severs for character creation after the maintenance today or give us an update on their future character creation status. A lot of people have been delayed from playing with their friends/family members due to the ongoing restrictions on these particular worlds.

It's been more than a week since the last maintenance and Ultros hasn't been open for characters at all! I have friends who bought the game and have been waiting to play. They were hoping that Ultros would be unlocked for character creation soon after the last maintenance but it never happened and they have wasted a good chunk of their free trial time!

My friend bought this game a week ago with the hopes of joining myself and other friends on Hyperion server, and has been unable to do so.

He tried to make a post in this thread to express his frustrations, but SE does not allow you to make forum posts unless you have an active character. This means that there are many, MANY more new players who are frustrated with trying to join their friends than this thread can possibly reflect, since SE has effectively silenced these new players from voicing their concerns.

I got sick of waiting a couple days ago and just made a character on Leviathan. The Mog service promises a character transfer feature in mid-September. I expect some kind of free transfer when the servers are more stable... if it isn't free or on a special sale I'll be angry - but I was so sick of waiting to play I'm honestly ready to pay a small fee just to transfer so that I can play now. I'm already wasting game time by waiting.

I've been told that Guild Wars 2 offered free transfers after their launch hype, hopefully Square Enix will be just as forgiving.

Have been playing MMO's for years with a tight nit group of friends. I was on vacation when servers went live and for some god awful reason SE has made the decision to lock out servers. The whole squad started on Cactuar and I, the intended tank, have been left out in the cold.

Out of boredom I have started an off server toon while waiting but each level I grow more disgust toward a game I have loved and played since NES was the top dog. In order to maintain group cohesion we may all be shortly leaving this game for good in search of a different game where everyone is allowed to play on the same server.

I surely am not alone as I have seen countless other posters relaying similar stories. Sad to see SE shoot themselves in the foot so soon on what appeared to be a decent remake of their last flop.
