So not only is this a sub MMO, but the answer is spend MORE money to get this service, brilliant. Now this is slightly better and an option i will proceed with if there is anyway i can have the one time passcode sent as a text to my phone, but the app says smartphone only which i don't have.

between that and the fact that these types of tokes have been compromised before i would hesitate to call this a catch all solution for not getting hacked.

I remember a few people in 1.0 had this happen, what happened was they gave all their account details and the "hacker" registered a new token to their account.

The people getting "hacked" are the ones going to the gil sites and getting phished.

not true, they can have a key-logger installed on their comp without ever knowing it. in fact millions of people in the U.S. alone have key-loggers on their computer without even knowing it. To make matters worse just having normal virus detection will not find them.

Like I said previously it's not always some fake web-page that gets players hacked. All it takes is a popular fan site a moment of weakness to be compromised in any number of ways. Not everyone who gets hacked is off browsing gold sale websites.

Lol you're only going to get hacked if you allow yourself to. People that get hacked deserve it, imo, just due to the sheer stupidity of even thinking about using one of those sites.

If they are, you should be careful where you post screenshots since that's giving your account info to hackers on a silver platter. Sometimes guessing the username is more difficult than the password, and you may have made their job a whole lot easier.

And get a token or the app, who doesn't have a smart phone or tablet at this point? (I wish they would make a token for desktop though...)

I don't even have a cell phone let alone whatever a smart phone is. All I have is a high end gaming desktop PC. Do these smart phone apps work for normal computers?

They also can't do a damn thing when you aren't around trying to login on a compromised system. If someone is putting forward the effort to watch your activity live and intercepting your packets, sure it could be compromised. But you are pretty much immune to everything else short of someone having your information and physical stealing the token/phone.
