It's amazing how you completely missed the point. All I'm saying is that it isn't fair to compare FFXIV reviews from only 3 months past release to FFXI reviews about 18 months after it's release. Give FFXIV 18 months, then you're free to compare reviews.
Oh I didn't miss your point big guy, I'm simply saying that times have changed and standards are very different now. Then again the subject of "SE didn't apply anything they learned from making XI to XIV" has been stressed enough. I wonder if after this game has been out for a year, I'll still be told "Just wait, YOU'LL SEE. In another 6 months this game will be ready for reviews FOR REAL".

So if I understand you correctly, you think I am wrong to claim that the time between release and review between the two games can't be compared fairly, because you believe that the extra knowledge they gained from the years of FFXI development should have applied to FFXIV, which should have resulted in a much better game at release, thus those 3rd month reviews are completely comparable to the 18th month reviews of FFXI. Does that about sum it up?Oh I didn't miss your point big guy, I'm simply saying that times have changed and standards are very different now. Yes, exactly. Even now, if reviewed 7 months after release, FFXIV would not compare to XI 12 months after release. It just shouldn't be that way. Either way, we're arguing over nothing. Reviews don't really matter to me, just the uncertain future of this game.So if I understand you correctly, you think I am wrong to claim that the time between release and review between the two games can't be compared fairly, because you believe that the extra knowledge they gained from the years of FFXI development should have applied to FFXIV, which should have resulted in a much better game at release, thus those 3rd month reviews are completely comparable to the 18th month reviews of FFXI. Why the hell not? FFXI's scores didn't change dramatically later on. The scores it was getting 18 months after release were generally the same as the scores it got at launch. There is nothing unfair about making such a comparison.
