I died twice doing dugeon runs today and my repair bill for my crappy gear was 2500 gil.
WOW. And the quest give out 600 gils.
This is like the WHITE HOUSE and CONGRESS. THAT DOES NOT COMPUTE.
Anyone know how to make money in this game besides doing quests(they will run) and crafting(I don't want to craft)?
Any animals to farm for skins and hides to sell to those rich crafters?????
That's funny, because every time I run a few Dungeon and get few drop I can sale it and make around 20 - 30k every time. I net in close to 80k if I keep doing it the whole day. And Repair Equipment is also very cheap. If you don't want grind Dungeon drop and sale it, there always Crafting as well.

The issue isn't making money, it is the health of the economy and they amount of gil in it. As in the amount of gil in the economy at this point could easily be going down faster than it is going up.
Of course no official stats to support this but with all the gil sinks in the game it is hard to see otherwise.

People dont seem to be getting what OP and many other mean so here goes:
How much money you can make selling things to other people doesnt matter at all, the point is this
How much money is coming from The server (non player population) into the Player Population......Leves/Fates/Dungeons/Quests (if you have any left)
compared to
How much money is Leaving the player population back to the server.....Repairs/teleporting/Auction House 5% cut
we need to look at how much the playerbase as a whole is making from the server, compared to what it is losing back to the server, not how much is changing hands from one player to another
as far as i can tell (based on having many many 50's in my FC and friends list) outside of money earned from other players, all my level 50 friends are losing much more per day (to the server) than they earn (from the server).
in conclusion: OP is correct, at this rate the economy will be in real trouble soon if more ways to earn gil from non player sources aren't added
For those who have a standard subscription (8 characters per world), you could always create a second character on the same server and play through the game again and again to make 200k gil each time. Once you've made the gil, store it in your FC chest, delete the character, reroll, and play again. Not something I would personally do though.

Nullzy and Yurimi, good suggestions, and Val, good advice, however, what the 3 of you dont take into account is that the health of the economy is tied to the entire playerbase and how they chose to earn and spend money, its all good to say, reroll and lvl another toon, or sell crafting mats to and NPC or even Vals comment of change your Stratagy to be more productive, the simple fact is although some players may do these things, the majority wont, they like to dungeon crawl, sell things on AH and TP everywhere, they dont like to feel forced into not doing what they like simply to generate enough revenue to actually play the game the way they want.For those who have a standard subscription (8 characters per world), you could always create a second character on the same server and play through the game again and again to make 200k gil each time. now i am not saying that is the correct attitude, but its just the way it is, many people cannot play everyday, so they cannot afford 1 or 2 gil farming days per week simply to play the way they want on the other days, they want to log in, do dungeons etc etc and not feel like they have to withhold from doing it, simply to go farm gil elsewhere.
I dont think huge amounts of gil should be thrown at people for doing dungeons etc but as it is one of the most popular ways to spend time in game then you should at least be able to break even or make a very small profit from an average run, or even a small loss that can be recuperated elsewhere without having to literally go farm for a couple of hours just to make back the gold you lost.... Just my opinion

Jesus Christ, the amount of people in this thread in earlier pages who simply do not comprehend what the OP is saying astounds me. This has absolutely nothing to do with how much money any one person has at a given time, or how to earn money. This deals with the effects of Gil-removal from the economy as a whole.
Now that I've been 50 for a few days now, this has been an issue I've been concerned about as well. This type of thing doesn't prevent RMT, if it's SE's goal - if anything, it promotes it.
Learn to play the Market Wards. There's a history button for them for a reason. Buy low, sell high, pay attention to how many items are selling/day per listing.
There's been a few items that people have thrown up at suggested value (which is usually only a few Gil) and I turned it around into 3k+ profit for myself. For example (blanking on the exact name) Moss-something or something-moss Scale was selling for 45k the other day, saw one for 20k, sniped it, put it back up for 39k. It's easy to make money if you pay attention to what's going on in the markets. ^^
And as others have said, items from dungeons (if you can get one or a few) generally sell well.
