why does everybody have British accents?

Did I miss something? Is my audio setting on European (as faked by american actors)? I finished a quest for Minifillia and all of a sudden she started talking to me in a fake British accent. Then the miquote who I assumed sounded like a cute asian girl started talking like Mary freak'n Poppins.

I was so distracted by the voice acting I missed the entire cut scene. I'll be disabling voices from here on out unless you can switch it to Japanese somehow? I mean really Miquote should sound like Australians they look down-under enough.

There is a Halloween episode of modern family where Gloria (south american 2nd wife) is tired of being mocked for her accent and OVER enunciate every word.. that's what it sounds like to me.

I have mine set to Japanese Audio for cinematics. I don't remember where exactly, but it is in the System Configuration.

Although, IMO, I think EU have better voice actors than NA. For some reason NA Voice overs never seem to accurately capture the expressions of the animated characters.

Not true for all voice actors, but the majority of the time, the voice just doesn't fit.

I'm glad someone finally mentioned this! I don't understand why they couldn't hire a few american voice actors for this.

I wondered this myself. Not that it bothers me as i'm originally from the UK.

All the dialogue is inspired (I guess you can call it that) by how people used to talk back in the day in London. More specifically hints of the "Cockney" dialect peek through in almost every conversation with an NPC. It's just done in a way that I actually find funny. Almost in the same way when an American would do a poor English accent, we just know and find it funny.

    This.

Seems written and voiced in Cockney and also Elizabethan (I think?). I think the reason for this is maybe because of Tolkien and Lewis, since they were like the originators of what we know as fantasy. They both wrote in those styles. Seems the most fitting.

Because the island stretched its coiling vines all across the globe and influenced greatly how we perceive and consider fantasy.

Aren't you aware that all fantasy games and movies are meant to be exclusively voiced by the British?!

I have no problem with it. In my opinion, the voice acting is top notch. However, I am biased because of the fact that I find British accents attractive.
