I think I have ten to fifteen people on my blacklist. All of gilsellers. >>; And it is rather annoying trying to blacklist them, at least in shout on the ps3.

They are on Balmung as well. Got 3 /tells. Took screen shots. Tried to submit report through game. Game froze, PS button would not even work, had to turn off PS3 manually. So, now I don't use the support desk, still take screenshots, and blacklist them. Unfortunately, don't know how to post images.
Not sure if posting them on my blog on Lodestone would get me banned or not.
What do I do when a Gil seller spams me:
1 - I answer F*** Y**, it costs nothing to be polite.
2 - I report him and send a copy of his message
3 - I copy his web address, target it with my laser of justice and call for an orbital strike.. yaya it works.. in a couple of minutes his website is happy to have a rest. So give some love to Gil sellers websites peeps.
Cheers

I honestly can't say I blame them for the concern of miss clicking something. I mean after all they are having to deal with whole lot of people who failed to read/select the right button when registering the game.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ervice-account (here is a huge thread full of said people)
Blacklisting them is only a Band-Aid solution, I'm more concerned what will be done to keep them out of the game all together.

Like what you discard an item, you check the box before hit the "OK" button. How does that sound to you?there have also been requests for an "Add to blacklist" option when selecting someone's name from the chat log, we would like to look into addressing this as well; however, this opens up the possibility of accidentally blacklisting people by misclicking etc., so we'd like to take the time to look into this carefully.![]()

Blacklist is my friend.

Yeah that's a great idea...something like when you are deleting a character. Pop-up will appear it says "Are You sure you want to blacklist this person?" Add button is grayed out until you check the check box the "Yes blacklist this person" then the Add button becomes clickable. It prevents people from accidentally blacklisting a friend, party member, or FC member.
I would argue and, in fact, have always argued, that it was not despite but because of there being three popups for absolutely everything you did in 1.0. It went from being a useful anti-mistake tool to "holy spam just get out of my face already" and I believe that many people who are attentive and conscientious as a general rule simply lost to attrition at that point.
I would also point out that ridiculous UI lag was to blame. My highlight was on a different item when I clicked sell, I knew perfectly well I wanted to sell the item that was highlighted, and the 1.0 UI lag caused the server to think I clicked a different item. (I never had a paragon's helm, but there were occasions where this happened to me with items of lesser import.)

Interim solutions are for pansies.

Oh please. That's what confirmation dialogues are for. And you can.... unblacklist? No that difficult. In addition, add a "view search info" to right clicking names in chat while you're at it. It's 2013 people!!As there have also been requests for an "Add to blacklist" option when selecting someone's name from the chat log, we would like to look into addressing this as well; however, this opens up the possibility of accidentally blacklisting people by misclicking etc., so we'd like to take the time to look into this carefully.

And I'm not gonna lie either. I think you and the 23+ people that are liking your post are being a little too dramatic.
It's also not how I read Camate's post.
