GIL Sellers Are on The Rise

My buddies are already receiving tells from gil sellers on day 1. Every1 do their part and report them asap. Hopefully SE will be on the ball with this one as they have stated before.

edit: SE deleted evidence photos but now that the servers are rampant with Gil sellers, it's not even needed

edit: Question to SE: How expensive is it to honestly have 1 staff member monitor city chat and initiate immediate bans to advertisers? No excuse.

edit 10/14: What has changed since I made this thread? What has been addressed in the RMT department? Almost nothing, the gil sellers I have blocked from early start ARE STILL UNBANNED, why has nothing changed?

Havent encountered any myself yet but I cant imagine them really flourishing, gil doesnt seem all that important. Least not yet.

makes crafting quicker if you have money, you can buy the single or double star equipment. making it requires high control 255 & 318ish just to even have the synth start.

lazy people will buy and i hope they get banned.

They certainly aren't wasting any time.. one was promoting his website in front of the Quicksands in Ul'dah, right where new players spawn.

Also many of those "gil sellers" are also account "phisers" trying to get people to give them their account info, then run it as a bot and get you banned for their actions.

Well that sucks, I haven't experienced any yet and the scale of them doesn't seem that big. I hope it stays at worst at this level.

From XI I know that SE is quite serious what this stuff belongs. Gil Seller will never use shout or normal shout because that would get them banned very fast. But even so SE do it´s best in XI and XIV they will be present. That´s the sad truth. So whenever you get a tell or see someone being stupid enough to promote it on chat, report them and help SE fighting them.

nothing is hidden to the GM's dont matter if you use /tell people at SE can see it.
the problem is GM are not in game 24/7 so report what you see.

We apologize for those of you who have experienced real money traders spamming gil selling advertisements. We are in the midst of addressing this and appreciate your patience during this time.

As there have also been requests for an "Add to blacklist" option when selecting someone's name from the chat log, we would like to look into addressing this as well; however, this opens up the possibility of accidentally blacklisting people by misclicking etc., so we'd like to take the time to look into this carefully.

In the mean time, we would appreciate it greatly if you could report these violators through the in-game Support Desk feature where they will be handled as soon as possible, as Senior Game Master Jhanaka has mentioned below:

If you should see any of these types of shouters, you are free to place a GM Call through the System Menu. As we do not have an option to directly report these spammers to us, we ask you choose the "Harassment" option in the Support Desk menu.

We ask that you include the name of the shouter along with a sample of what they had said. The GM staff will then receive your call and address the spamming; we will be sending you a message instead of offering a live contact to ensure your game play is not interrupted.

We are looking into methods to directly report them to us without using the Support Desk system, but we ask for you to bear with us until we get the tools developed. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and we will continue to work with you to stop this type of violation as quickly as possible.
