3 Suggestions on how to curb RMT:

1. Allow an option in the System Config menu to "Disallow Tells from people not on your Friend List"
*RMT are still ingame, taking up a slot on the server for "real" players. Does not do anything if the RMT /Shouts


2. Increase the Blacklist capacity beyond 200
*RMT are still ingame, taking up a slot on the server for "real" players. Still annoying to see them /Shout in the 1st place before you Blacklist them


3. Allow players to purchase 30 days worth of game time as an *in-game item* for 15 dollars RL cash, but can only be SOLD INGAME for gil
*RMT is no longer profitable, as anyone and everyone can make "instant gil" legitimately

Not going to lie, this is dumb beyond belief. You are literally saying players are too stupid to right click on someones name and add them to an ignore list without accidently ignoring their friends/innocent strangers.

I agree that the word dumb should be used for this reply, but not because of the solution of accidentally misclicking, but because they aren't actively working on each server to silence the gil seller themselves. I personally feel it's a great burden to send in a report. How many reports will you receive before action is taken? And by that point, will it even matter if we send in one by then?

You could also just add a confirm dialog after clicking the Blacklist option, people aren't this stupid to blacklist their friends then. Wish this could get added real soon.

You can accidently block a friend. I was clicking invite to party on one Person and chat scrolled and it invited other person. At least both were friends and knew invite was an oops.

I find this a bit of a weird statement, you don't need to reinvent the wheel neither is this rocket sciene.

It's really simple just a check box 'do you want to ignore person x yes/no'


It's obnoxious to type a name like Fgfgh JgfIIIDW especially if you get whispered by 6 of them.
I think most people an handle the right mouse button pretty well, I think you could give them a bit more credit hehe.

As there have also been requests for an "Add to blacklist" option when selecting someone's name from the chat log, we would like to look into addressing this as well; however, this opens up the possibility of accidentally blacklisting people by misclicking etc., so we'd like to take the time to look into this carefully.

In the mean time, we would appreciate it greatly if you could report these violators through the in-game Support Desk feature where they will be handled as soon as possible, as Senior Game Master Jhanaka has mentioned below:

I've actually received well over two dozen gil spam tells already on Odin. I just blacklist them most of the time, but the one thing that was alarming to me was the amount of phished accounts that were used to send the tells (judging by the fact that the spammers character had an actual name, instead of just random keypresses). At least one quarter of those spam tells came from phished accounts.

So, what I'm saying is, please don't go to the advertised websites. Beside the obvious reason, they are more than likely phishing sites anyway.

Doesn't work that way, we had tons of people complaining about "Accidentally vendoring my Paragon's Helm" despite the fact there's 3 popups confirming it.
