Then make your own group and don't use duty finder or PUGS, just sayin.
Bunch of entitled little wannabe pros we got here.
No, just no. A person is not rude if they are watching it for the first time. The others are only in self-imposed hurries, there is no etiquette there except to actually allow the first-timer to experience the story fresh. It's the seven who are being rude in that case if they can't wait the extra bit of time, not the one person simply because s/he is the only one. Honestly, though, I somehow doubt it will be seven who are being impatient, but just one or two who are vocally impatient and 5 others who couldn't care less and simply don't say anything--which leads the 2 to believe everyone is irritated.
Why are you calling them rude? If one person watching a cutscene ruins your fun then you have bigger problems than waiting a couple of extra minutes while PLAYING A GAME !!!!!!!!
When you get older you will realize it's the journey not the destination that's important.
Not really if the person watching has NEVER seen it before. Why people want to get to 50 in a week I'll never understand. My first raid at lv15 I did pretty good, capping the cages at the end n stuff and someone said use your limit break, I didn't know what that was yet and wow, getting grief in the first run took some of the fun out thx to db's.
No, it doesn't work both ways. SE spent the time designing the cutscenes for one reason alone--that they would be watched. If a person plays the game the way it is intended to be played, that person shouldn't receive the hostility of others too impatient to sacrifice a couple minutes of their time.
The simplest solution would be to disable cutscene skipping if someone in the party is running the dungeon for the first time. Then any pressure to skip the scenes would be removed, and the impatient players wouldn't be able to lash out against those just wanting to experience the story for the first time (I know, wanting to experience the story--shocking, isn't it?).
This exactly ^^The simplest solution would be to disable cutscene skipping if someone in the party is running the dungeon for the first time. It worked in another game I played and would work here. No one can type in cutscenes.
Edit:
SE could greatly reduce the conflict between those that do and don't want to watch cut-scenes by showing everyone the cut-scene until everyone agrees to skip it. That's how it worked in White Knight Chronicles 2 and I never felt pressured to skip the cut-scene my first time on a quest.
Here is a video that shows how cut-scenes worked in WKC2 (skip to 0:16 and 6:05 to see cut-scene feature):

Aw, poor baby, you have to wait a couple minutes? Tell me more about all your hardships.
This doesn't go both ways. Being a dick to someone who is watching a cutscene is being a dick.
Watching a cutscene because you're playing the game and enjoying the story is just that, it's not being a dick. There is a very big difference.
I have repeated some content and had to wait on people to watch the cutscenes. I just waited patiently like a decent human being and then when they were done we did the runs. I didn't feel the need to bitch at them at all. I believe that I am not special, and that everyone possesses this capability. I believe in you all!
If you are joining a random group (IE DF party), then you should expect it to be a 'first time, full run'. That means, there will be people who don't know the mechanics, etc, and who are interested in watching CS's. If you wish to 'farm' than either form a set static group on your server to do said farming with (we have LS/FC's for a reason), or be patient with those that are doing their 'first run.
Also, keep in mind...people watching CS's can't see the Chat logs as they aren't prioritized...so you can scream at them to skip to your hearts content, they can't see it and you just piss yourself off thinking they are ignoring you.
The ONLY time, it is okay to tell new folk to skip a CS, is if you are actually going to timeout otherwise...that is it. And then, warn them before the CS.
