100% against it.
"Tron-trim" is kind of ok but full on glowing gear looks very stupid.

I honestly liked the over-the-top armors and weapons in Lineage 2. I only got to Blue Wolf Heavy, but I couldn't help staring at it all the time. Would it fit in this game? I don't really know, but the graphics are really good, and I wouldn't mind seeing stuff like that. That's just my opinion tho :/

yaa thats a good pick, its more illumination than glowing, when its pitch black night time you will see it, but it doesnt glow n blind you XDhttp://minus-k.com/nejitsu/loader/up110352.jpg

Lantern Shield, it's a subtle effect, not engulfing you in the glow and flames of (deity) like most people want when they refer to glowing weapons and armor.
i kinda see it more as glowing accents to detail them as enchanted weapons, rather than a flickering aura or full on glow. I would like the accents, like designed etched into the blades of certain unique weapons.
when did people get this idea that FF was some sort of dour realism nonsense. Its over the top high fantasy and it has been since it was on snes.
i remember ATMA Weapon in FF3/6 a GLOWING SWORD that got bigger the more hp you got.

Cloud walks around with a sword bigger than he is, with all sorts of crazy anti utility designs for almost every model
Summon a dragon who goes in outer space, starts blasting from the moon, and blows up everything right in front of us.
Advent children fight scene defines over the top.
Cool effects are cool effects, if you dont like the idea of weapons with fantastical unrealistic powers and effects, maybe you shouldnt be playing a fantasy game, especially from one of the most over the top powered franchises in rpg gaming.

Galkas with Butterfly-wings, just because its fantasy?
There are enough Games with thousands of Colors for one pair of shoes and Glowing stuff everywhere, for the little ones who like it.
Why cant there be just a few without such things, for those who dont want to wear Sunglasses to play a Game?
But i would agree with this Tron-like stuff from a pic posted in here. As long as they dont add it to every Item and not to much of it on the ones who get it.
You want realism in RPGs? Go LARP. I want shiney shit and flashy graphics, not a mundane gray & brown world.
what is it with this weird arguments anyway?
full glowing gear and light-stick weapons? No one asked for it.
Why is it that people hear about visual effects and immediately think of a
cheesy WoW sword and then assume SE could do no better and
all those who request it have no taste?
Lantern shield is a great example of how it is done right.
Now imagine rings with a subtle glowing crystal or gloves that only have a small rune glowing,
rare weapons and gears with small details, particle effects and such.
If your imagination is very limited there is no need to obscure the requests of others.
(I am not directing this post to anyone specific, it is merely my thought in general)
People ask for stunning designs and others try to make it look like they ask for Galkas with fairy wings... sad

Exactly. SE is so proud of the detail they put into this game thus far so why not enhance it even further? That's why I believe the pic you provided was a great way to implement such effects. We aren't looking for WoW effects but something that keeps the fantasy appeal.what is it with this weird arguments anyway?

Final: Something to be taken seriously as it will wrap your emotions into it
Fantasy: Amazing effects, visuals, and very imaginative
This is just a summary of how I always seen it and I think some people forget this and focus too much on the realism aspect.
