Glowing weapons

I've had enough cheesy glowing and fiery weapons in fantasy games to last me a lifetime. Besides, it wouldn't really fit into the feel of the game.

I know I'll be called stupid for this, but something along the lines of Tron (no pun intended) would be cool, where its only accents that glow.

Keep it down to a minimum, glowing should only be done in dark places. In normal light, it should just look like a normal color.

Tron was awesome, and so is glowing weapons. I don't know what the FFXI lead artist was smoking. All the other FF games have weapon effects and it's a big thing in fantasy in general. Time to part ways with the boring looking gear, absolutely. FFXIV already has mind-blowing graphics, if they added imaginative armor and weapons it would be insane.

I agree with this. That would be a cool effect for a weapon. Not a glow though, that's too cheesy, would be hard for me to take the game serious then. But i am definitely all up for enhancing the look of weapons and armour and making them stand out.

For gear, it would make more sense to have a minor reasonable glow or shine to it to make some of the better gear stand out. some AF2 gear had that in FF like drk. i'd be all up for somethin like that.
