PS: If history is repeating itself, this means we'll eventually see MRD and GLD get put out of a job by someone with the ability to completely negate damage, LNCs will eat some change to weapon skills that will label them as gimp for the better part of four years, and THM will really become Red Mage and be solely focused on spamming refresh.

Oh absolutely. The second tough content hits this game, Marauders lancers and pugilists are toast if that enemy AoE's. Which it will, because to Square Enix, AoE=more hard. They'll be warming the bench in a heartbeat. It'll be one glad, 4 archers and 3 thaumaturges. Plus or minus three archers or thaumaturges of course. That's the solution to every endgame event that Square Enix can release. Thaumaturges and archers with a token gladiator. Unless they're sp'ing, then **** that gladiator. He can go grind coblyns solo, you only have 8 slots, and all 8 are needed for someone USEFUL.

Useful is what the rangers used to say. They need that spot to go to someone useful. As in not monks, dragoons, thieves, paladins, white mages, or dark knights. Those kinds of people don't deserve bards. Ninja....alright the ninja can come if he's good.

Who needs a healer? Nobody. The archers all have Cure III and cure for 550. That's more than enough. Don't have AoE cures? Doesn't matter, that was the whole point in telling the meleers to get lost, remember? Lolmeleers...Dink* Sorry healers, you're just...not...useful.

How many of you all are just dying to get 4 archers, 3 thaumaturges, and a gladiator and just eat any endgame content SE can throw at you. I know exactly what you have in mind. Here's your future conversation:
