We are now paying customers, so when can the service be used?

It is almost like most of you have never played a MMO at launch before. MMO launches are always rocky, some more than others. If that is a problem for you then you should hold off from purchasing a MMO in it's first month.

I was just annoyed at first but this is so fucking worthless. I paid over $80 for the first CE got a map that is no longer good, a retarded helmet and a couple of mount that I can't even use because they are making me do the same quests again. SE, this is a fucking joke. If I ever had your track record with launching software I would get sued and lose my job...

Well... if you want to get into comparisons, lets look at WoW and their collector's editions. Up until Cataclysm, they had maps and such come with their releases before which by the way are all useless now. But let me ask you something. Did you get some use out of it while you were playing the original release of FFXIV? From the looks of your character, unless you spent the time since EA grinding your legacy account to 50, it seems you enjoyed or at least got 3 months minimum use out of said helmet, mount, and other CE items you originally bought. And Whoop De Do that you have to redo a few quests to use your mounts again... Quit your whining, grow up, and just play the game you gave your money up for to play. It's not like they are forcing you to re-buy the game the second time around so be grateful for that.
And if creating a new game causing the old one/anything that came with it worthless, lets look at EA Sports and count the ways they make money by selling people the same game with slightly better graphics with new names in the game.

In fact you do not have the right to do that (though you can because CC company's are largely stupid and will buy any line of crap you feed them.) Read the EULA you tool. You agreed to the fact that there will be service outages. If you could not handle that you should have declined the agreement and asked for a refund then as you would have had the right to it at that time.

Please understand this is a base right, and no EULA can overide it. So yes by our rights we can, and should be upset when presented with a product that is Misrepresented as a final release, Delivered as a unusable product, and provided with unsatisfactory communication from the company.

I however am patient, I have not requested a refund, as yet, however at this point am fully entitled to one if I do request it.

Grow up? You are telling me to grow up because I am pointing out that fact that SE has royally screwed up? Growing up would be something along the lines of you getting off of their nuts long enough to admit that they have been screwing up for far too long.

We are paying for game time in addition to the initial game purchase. Extended periods of being unable to play are unacceptable.

i see a few people defending SE and sure i think some of the criticism is a bit over the top but its not unjustified a simple afk kick system would reduce log-in ques greatly

We should get game time given to us for not being able to play. I get about 15 mins of very laggy play then it disconnects me with the 90000. We are paying for game time and it is being denied because se have not got their shit together. There are some basic things in this game that they had plenty of time to foresee and protect against and they have not done their job. Remember this is not the first time this game was released they have had years to perfect this game and it still feels like beta.

I for one am giving them until next week then will be seeking a refund.

I am in NO WAY defending Square Enix for the past week but was sitting at my desk totally confused by the company's reaction to this. Here is what I found. Please remember that the Headquarters is in Japan and they set the rules for even Forum Moderator communication with customers. After reading this, especially the first few comparisons, I understand a bit more of the ways they have operated in the past week.
