Good reviews, more sales = better content for us in the future.

That's just optimistic thinking. Take a look at EA. Their games sell hard, yet they just keep throwing more and more half assed content, day-one DLCs and shitty DRM. That somehow still generates a ton of sales, yet the content never improves.

I also can't believe I resorted to posting here, given the number of likes the second post has received makes me wonder if it was even worth it.

Think about it, people are down rating a game for a TEMPORARY problem.

Wether people like it or not, temporary issue or no the game was launched in a unstable state that did not allow people to play the game they payed for.

Server stabillity issues in the first week are no issue for me but it's a dealbreaker for some and they are entitled to their opinions, you and other people who use metacritic are also entitled to the option to ignore people who do stuff like give 0 reviews. I personally find that 0 or 10 scores tend to be the least informative about the actual product itself and more of a personal upset or unbridled praise.

If you really want to take review scores as a point of purchase then go by the industry standard, ignore user reviews and focus on what the critics give it....or you know do what any rational human does and make your own decision for yourself. People have a right to be upset, and you have no real reason to refuse them their right to dislike the game because of it. I'm enjoying myself, your enjoying yourself, what's the deal?

I do my part by informing people of like opinions of the game while not all are positive, I'm sure you and thousands of others do the same. Likewise with the negative reviews as well it can't just be all unbridled praise or hate there is bound to be both and those in the middle like myself. People have opinions, I guess to quote what a wise man once said.

Nah, they're not that different if you look at SE's recent trends of streamlining and caring about graphics over everything else.

The main difference is its an mmo. Name me 1 that has worked problem free on day one of launch.
Considering people are getting 33 days free (Early access clearly not counting), these so called "fans" are complaining about something that was almost garenteed to happen. The game got good, it got popular..it got REALLY popular. Now factor in the amount of publicity it has, the amount of 1.0 players AND the amount of selfish asshats who refuse to log off when they go to work, out or to bed.

And there you have it, my comment stands.

There's plenty of other MMOs that released in recent years that had a much more effective population management and queue system. When you release a product it kind of helps to study your competitors. Why this was overlooked, who knows? But at least they're fixing it now.

Giving zero score for server stability issues is beyond stupid. The development team have done a fantastic job compared to v1.0. I know, since I couldnt get myself to play for > 2 hours and was missing FFXI the whole time . With ARR, I can finally say good bye to FFXI and this feels like a worthy successor.

This does not take away from the problems that we are facing, and the reason I suspect a lot of us are posting is because we are unable to login and character creation for most (all NA when I checked) servers is locked.

So I felt compelled to go on Metacritic and give this game a 10 to offset the masses of idiots giving it a 0 for server issues. (I would honestly give it a 9.5 though)

Think about it, people are down rating a game for a TEMPORARY problem.

Also the original game only had 50 positive reviews and 150 negative ones. No matter how much people complain about not being able to login on the number of good reviews will always surpass the bad ones.

So please relax and stop abusing the metacritic scoring system.

The same thing happened in Diablo III because of the server issues that game had.
