The main difference is its an mmo. Name me 1 that has worked problem free on day one of launch.
Considering people are getting 33 days free (Early access clearly not counting), these so called "fans" are complaining about something that was almost garenteed to happen. The game got good, it got popular..it got REALLY popular. Now factor in the amount of publicity it has, the amount of 1.0 players AND the amount of selfish asshats who refuse to log off when they go to work, out or to bed.

And there you have it, my comment stands.

There's plenty of other MMOs that released in recent years that had a much more effective population management and queue system. When you release a product it kind of helps to study your competitors. Why this was overlooked, who knows? But at least they're fixing it now.

The 30 days given with the purchase of the game is not free it is what you are paying for in the first place. So quit lying unless SE said they are actually giving us 33 days free. Which I'd actually like to see the link for.
Now I do disagree with people going to metacritic and rating 0s or 1s for server issues. Honestly 3-4 would be reasonable assuming they comment that it is due to server system being something you'd see done back in EQ days...

While I agree it's getting somewhat blown out of proportion, the people who cannot get in to play (myself included) have a valid point. We paid for a service, and it's not being provided. It's not MY problem that they cannot handle the load. Locking people out of the game is the WRONG answer to this problem, and it's pretty much unprecedented. I have been doing this since Ultima Online, and have never seen a company intentionally prevent it's customers from using the product that they paid for. If they were going to do this they should have warned people ahead of time, but instead they took our money knowing full well that we wouldn't be able to play. Limiting sales would have been a better solution, and it would have accomplished the same thing as locking people out, but of course they want our money.

Yet you still got to level 17 already. They also gave you 4 free days towards your subscription. You can check via account management. They only temporarily locked you out of servers that are full. You could've 100% enjoyed the service you paid for by making a character on another server if you're that impatient.
