Already took his money, you can see it withdrawn from the balance of the card on his online account. He has received an order confirmation email with no code in it, and it shows the confirmation of the purchase in EU and a order number which does not work on findmyorder.com and his squareenix ID is not working to log in on the forums but if he goes to sqaure-enix.com and logs in with this email associated with the account it lets him log in.

Duh, you should have mentioned that right away. EU orders don't show up on findmyorder.com. Neither should receipt contain 18 digit code. He should have got just his 20 digit code in separate email titled "FFXIV: A Realm Reborn - Your Early Access Code" sometime between 20.08 and now.
