    "Make sure that "read-only" is unchecked for ffxivboot.exe ffxivupdater.exe, etc. I didn't have to delete anything at all though.

    Tried that before reinstalling Windows and again earlier today afterwards, didn't change anything. The error is a server error. Why do you people think it's an issue with our computers?

    Because it's singling you(and some others) out. The server is treating us all the same(or should be), so it's most likely a problem on your end. The error message sounds like it's a firewall issue. Have you checked it? Perhaps you accidentally blocked it. Check that you don't have the Windows Firewall buried under all your windows. Try port forwarding. Or unlikely, the update server is peer-to-peer, and your ISP blocked it?

    I've tried all of those things. Spent some time with the ISP too. If they're blocking it... what would I have to ask them to do? I'll call them tonight and have them do whatever they need to.
