Maximum players per server anyone know?

From past experience (v1 Early Access in 2010), SE will make worlds available and unavailable depending on congestion in certain zones. A world that is "full" now might become available again later.

When I started, Besaid was "full", so I chose another. (iStory. er, Istory.) Many days later I heard it was available again. (You only saw server availability after creating a new character.) (Yes, that's the world's smallest violin you hear playing in the background...)

A couple questions if someone knows ~

1) For those who have visited the server transfer site, what are the amount of stars on the JP worlds, and have the stars on the NA/EU worlds changed from the OP?

2) For those who played at launch of 1.0 in Sept/Oct 2010 for a while ... did you ever get queued when logging in and have to wait to get on your server to play? This happened when my son played SWTOR at launch. I'd never seen anything like it, it did not happen with XI. It went on for a few weeks. I found it pretty appalling. Sometimes he could not get on for hours.

The only one I would worry is Excalibur. That one is going to get full fast and I'm not sure if they will have any reserve for new players. I'm glad Sargatanas won't be near capacity but I bet it will get somewhat close seeing how it is the unofficial legacy NA/EU server (Just found out recently ^^)

I thought this one might fill up first, but I guess I underestimate how many JP people play this game since the announcement of Masamune and Aegis (my old server) nearly reaching capacity today.

Yea Excal is filling up crazy fast. One day it was one star and the next it was 3.

The only time there was a queued in 1.0 was when a new patch hit. The lag was really bad and it was a few min waiting to get in but once people saw the new patch they just log off and we never saw that many players online. Even when yoshi-p took over and it became P2P we had that issue people would just pay the game and log on to see the new patch lol.

Regarding the character transfers for 1.0 characters and the people who have friends that they want to play with in the future(such as on the release date or after), what are your thoughts?

1. You transfer to Excalibur/Balmung and it becomes full shortly. Your character is locked into those servers as there is only a one time world transfer. You are stuck here with your 1.0 character.

2. You transfer to one of the 3: Hyperion, Ragnarok, Sargatanas and it is likely that there is enough room for your friends to join your 1.0 character.

3. Throw away legacy status/1.0 character and start fresh?

The problem is that the people who I played with in 1.0 are leaning towards the 3 star servers and I want to play with them but in fear of the server having a maximum capacity.

Well this is interesting.. that and the transfer page hasn't updated since 6/22 --

"We would like to notify our players that, in regards to the ongoing World transfer applications, the Masamune and Aegis Worlds are approaching the maximum number of applications allowed. Please be aware that we will stop accepting applications once a World maxes out and further transfers will not be possible."

Both are also at 3 stars, but they've posted no such notice for Balmung or Excalibur
