Chrono Trigger sampled in Ul'dah Theme?

Not sure if this has been mentioned before or not, but has anyone noticed that the Ul'dah theme samples Chrono Trigger's main theme? I think it's pretty rad! Sorry, the music nut in me notices these things.

But inspiration can be taken from anywhere. For all we know, Soken could be an old-skool CT fan, even if there aren't any knee-high socks involved.

The movement of the sound IS similar, indeed. I would certainly like to hear word from Soken himself on this matter (although that might be a self-important request).

Not related to what you linked, but I do recall parts of some other songs in ARR having very Mitsuda-like characteristics, as well. Frankly, Yasunori Mitsuda's not a bad composer to take inspiration from, anyway. If anything, like many of us, Soken grew up playing many well-composed games in his lifetime, and has since been artistically influenced by a lot of them (among other sources of inspiration) in a variety of ways.

Not sure of a link online (it's against NDA anyway), but next weekend if you get a chance, travel the area between Quarrymill and Buscarron, I believe it plays there.

I don't really hear the similarity at all. I've heard one song that reminded me a little of Zelda: ALttP, but I don't remember which it was.
