this is false. Pre-Order items (cait sith minion, mog hat, and early access) are pre-order items regardless of version, standard or CE, PC or PS3 ALL the other stuff physical and ingame are CE items and you can get the ingame CE items for $19.99 USD

I'm still confused about how the service accounts / bonus items work. I'll use my character names / accounts for example if anyone can help clear this up for me.
- I have one (1) Square-Enix Account.
- I have two (2) Service accounts registered under my Square-Enix Account
I've created two (2) different characters for each of the Service accounts
- Final Fantasy XIV 1
Character: Nymourea Fairhelm
- Final Fantasy XIV 2
Character: Rhomagus Asclepiot
I've already purchased two (2) Collector's Editions and registered the pre-order in game items for them (Onion Helm). I also had an FFXI linked service account (Hermes Shoes). I also registered my code from Final Fantasy XIII (Asura's Gauntlets).
I've already purchased two (2) Standard Editions and registered the pre-order in game items (Garlond Goggles) to both accounts.
I'd like to order one (1) physical copy of the PS3 Collector's Edition and one (1) physical copy of the PC Collector's Edition.
Questions
1.) I created Rhomagus Asclepiot before I had the chance to register my Standard Edition copy for Final Fantasy XIV 1.0; so he currently doesn't have access to the Garlond Goggles. Upon recreating him in A Realm Reborn; will I now be able to get this item?
2.) The Hermes shoes are no longer able to be acquired but they're still in game correct? Will Rhomagus' Hermes Shoes be deleted upon logging into A Realm Reborn?
2a.) Will service accounts that were previously tied to an FFXI account be able to gain access to the Hermes Shoes upon character creation in A Realm Reborn if they are not deleted from the game?
3.) Since I'm ordering two (2) physical copies of the Collector's Edition (One for PC and one for PS3), will I be able to register the Mog Cap and Cait-Sith Doll Minion on both Final Fantasy XIV service accounts by using different codes from each platform?
4.) If I want to play as Nymourea on my PS3 and Rhomagus on my PC, will I never be able to play as Nymourea on my PC ever again because I tied her service account to my PS3 account?
4a.) If there is a lock out, does the lock out only apply to the service account or does it apply to the Square-Enix account? Would I have to create another Square-Enix account in order to keep Rhomagus from getting locked out of the PC version as they are both under the same Square-Enix account or would I be fine?
I hate to concern myself over the preorder bonuses considering they're already giving 1.0 CE owners and legacy players quite a lot, but I do hope they have thought about that. I can do without the mog cap, and I'm getting early access anyway, but I really want that Cait Sith minion.

ok after reading your questions I was a little off on my previous post on how this works. As you mentioned you have 2 service accounts on your SE account.
In short since you are purchasing both a PC copy AND a PS3 copy just register each copies code to the service account you wish. They can only be attached to 1. Registering your PS3 code will not keep you from logging on that character on your PC.
Just make sure you register 1 code to 1 service account don't accidently put both codes on 1 service account.
Now if someone only purchases 1 copy of the game and multiple service accounts they will have to chose which one to attach it to and only those characters made on that service account will get the items your other service account is SOL (unless of course it was a 1.0 CE version then you still get the in game CE items from 2.0 just not pre-order.
About your FFXI items I'm pretty confident if you already have them you will still have them. However I was under the impression that one or both of those items you mentioned had a limited time frame for you to add the code to your account so if you didn't do it before that time frame you won't be able to get them now. But I'm not 100% on this part.

Think of the way businesses phrase things like programming hardware components. They list absolutely everything that you get, if something is not listed it is a implied not.

They are doing a lot for us, but I would like them to clear some things up.
If you purchased the regular 1.0 version of the game, you get ARR for free. Makes sense, very simple. You may also pay to get upgraded to the Collectors Edition (See collectors edition below).
If you were a Legacy Member, you get early access, lower costs per month, and some free goodies like a Legacy chocobo mount.
If you purchased the 1.0 Collectors Edition, you get the Helm of Light, Baby Behemoth Minion, Behemoth Barding, and Coeurl Mount. But you do not get any of the ARR Collectors addition physical, or digital items, such as the music or the artwork.
It makes sense that you wouldn't get the physical stuff, since you did get the physical items you payed for when you purchased the original items, some would argue for the digital items.
The question is, though, do we get the pre-order bonus? Some might find it not a big deal, but it seems a bit awkward for them not to give the pre-order bonus' us. This, combined with the want of physical items, causes people like me to want to purchase the Collector's Edition again. Which begs another question, can I link it to my account and get the pre-order bonus on my current account.
Before when you purchased the collectors edition you could not get the items for pre-order, because they were limited to the regular edition, that didn't make sense either.
Many people, like myself, feel a loss when they purchase so much for a game and they miss out on items due to awkward circumstances.

Ok, just to clarify, what we are talking about is pretty much a 5-10$ fee to get the Mog Cap, The Caith Sith Pet, and additional early access time between the end of phase 4 and the official release right? (assuming that since everyone that already has an account will have access after beta3, and they already confirmed that progress is "planned" to be retained from beta4 onward pending any major need to reset)***snip***
The game's early adopters are going to miss on the mog cap and the caith sith pet unless they preorder a whole (and for most useless) new copy of the game, those that aren't legacy are also not going to get into the early access.
IMHO it'd be a good idea, like you're offering a Collector's Edition upgrade service, also to offer a service that lets those that got 1.0 "upgrade" to preorder status for a fee (i would say 5 to 10 bucks would be fair).
Personally, I got the 1.0 Collector's Edition on day 1 (preordered it months before release), and I'm a bit sore for missing the collectibles coming with the new preorder, but honestly it would be unfair to ask people to preorder a whole new copy to get the items and early access.
It will also be useful for Square Enix, as it would let them gauge how many of the old customers are planning to return (which is, after all, one of the main reasons for offering preorders).
Pretty please?
If that's what your aiming for, then I can't see any reason to argue with support for this. I read the released material a few times, and it doesn't seem that the "Collector's Edition Digital Upgrade" will include any of this, so an additional option would seem to be warranted.
Personally I'm planning on getting the PS3 version just to be able to play on either if I want to, but I support the addition of this option for people that purchased the PC version and want to get the pre-order bonuses without buying the whole game over again.

Had to stop in here and say: Abriael, I've been reading your posts for quite sometime now and you are always very thorough, and concise. You always have a perfectly executed response to those who seem to miss the point, play devil's advocate or want to egg you on. I second your notion, as I want the pre-order items as well. I have a PC copy and don't NEED another copy of the game in any sense. So why make me pay for some plastic, when all I need are redeemable keys.
Thanks for all of your input on the various forum topics![]()

Yep, that's all I'm vouching for. Options are always a good thing IMHO, the more options people will have to give SE money, the more people will do it, the more funding this game will receive.Ok, just to clarify, what we are talking about is pretty much a 5-10$ fee to get the Mog Cap, The Caith Sith Pet, and additional early access time between the end of phase 4 and the official release right?
