    Depends on your definition of ranged DD. Red mage isnt exactly a core damage dealer in XI, unless you stack 2 hour abilities, heh. Plus, that version was usually portrayed with a sword and shield, implying close combat, "jack of all trades, master of none"

    As for XI Dark Knight, its skills usually of kept it up close in combat, in spite of its magic pool.

    One of the biggest reasons I brought this up is the guild & lore presence- It would be much simpler to implement, to fill this niche role.

    And jack of all tradesers are notoriously useless in MMORPGs. if someone else can do what you do better, everyone will go with that instead. only rarely does it usually come into play where you need the jack of trades class, specifically to get bits and pieces of a role that you couldn't otherwise fit into your party setup with X number of party members.
