I specifically said "better seller in Japan". What should be easy for you is reading what my post said.

Good for you. But being the "better seller in Japan", for however long DWVII was, doesn't really mean squat. My point is, worldwide, FFVII was the better seller, and still IS today. AND it has a much stronger fanbase. AND it has reached cult status among fans. These are things DWVII has not accomplished. Therefore, remaking it is not as big a risk factor as remaking FFVII.

Ok, so since no one want a FFX remake, it's good to do one ?...that's against the simple law of "offer and demand"

Offer oftentimes comes without demand. Especially in the game industry. A remake of FFX would probably go over well with people who play the game. But it has nowhere near received the demand of a remake of FFVII, if it even received demand at all. Like I said, offer sometimes comes without demand. At the same time, demand sometimes doesn't get an offer. Just because you want a company to do something doesn't mean it's in the best interest of the company to do it.

People wanted remakes of FFVII before SE thought about doing remakes ?! You mean remaking a 1997 game before FFIV was released on PSOne...in 1997, FF V...in 1998 and FF VI...in 1999 ?

Customers have wanted a remake of FFVII for YEARS. It has been on forum after forum, wish list after wish list. However, SquareEnix knows full well that it is an unnecessary risk to take since

1. The original in it's current form still sells well, and

2. Messing with the original could bring a backlash that Squeenix can't recover from.

That's why it likely won't happen. Ever. If it was going to, it would have been done by now. They've made remakes of other games, they won't remake FFVII. They are smart enough to not listen to you and countless other fans crying about this issue. The wishes of the fanboy/fangirl are not necessarily the best thing for the company. And this is a good example of that. You want to play FFVII? Here you go...

sorry I hate to point this out but you do realize that anything besides the playstation network sale of FFVII or the pc download for the game make square enix absolutely no money at all right? Ebay they get shit and amazon they get shit ie anything sold on amazon now and ebay are preowned games and make no profit for se

Especially since this is a post about the ins and outs on how it would be a big risk for se to MAKE money on a remake of of a game that a lot of people want... And you're telling him and others that if they want the game so bad to purchase it from someone preowned.... Anyone else see the irony in it?

I was giving that person the only credit for posting 1 url to an actual place where se will make money off of it so yes besides those two places se doesn't get the money abriel. Se doesn't make money off of preowned games only the stores that sell them do. so yes my besides will stay put..

Aside from the fact that I have quite a bit of experience around the industry and in the business world. I do not go around stating that I have the perfect recipe for SE (or any other corporation) to make money, nor that it would be "easy", as stated around this thread.

alright then neither do i. I'll just keep believing in Yoshi-p and laugh at all the irony going around and the "risks" everyone is taking ~_^

Edit: on another note and a thought I had. square enix is a company that is built on taking risks i mean they do put out video games. Not to mention the beginning of this whole franchise was one big sink or swim risk for the original development team when it first came out. If said risks weren't taken we wouldn't have these games or maybe even the company to begin with just saying this for some thing to think on.

Oh, you edited. Smart move. So yeah, they DO make money off of FFVII. And it's a lot less risky doing it this way and being guaranteed a buck than giving it a makeover and possibly bombing and screwing themselves badly. So... they should still remake this game because...?
