The point of the poll was to show that DQVII is not as popular or as much a cult classic as FFVII, considering it's position on the list. Also, You don't seem to have a response to your being completely and totally wrong about DWVII being a bigger seller than FFVII. And despite FFX's position on the list, it's still not as in demand by customer's for a high graphic remake. In fact, it wasn't in demand at all. Which is one of the reasons it's safe to do it. FFX, though winning the popularity poll (in 2006), is still not in the same high cult fan position as FFVII. Nor was it credited with selling the console it appeared on. Yet it still seems to have more props than DWVII.
Look, I know you deeply want to believe that a FFVII remake is a good idea. In fact, I was once in your position. I wanted to believe the exact same thing. I was even one of the people asking on forum after forum "WHY hasn't Squeenix done it by now? A FFVII remake would only make sense to do! It should be done! It has to be done!" But as time went by I began to understand the reality of what I was asking. That it could possibly damage the company that made it in an irreparable way, especially now when they're trying to come back from their slump. Also, why remake it? It's a cult classic, and it sells well as it is even to this very day. Why risk pissing off fans? Why give a cult favorite a make-over? Seeing as how it's less risky to simply NOT DO IT, and it SELLS FINE AS IT IS, it makes sense to not do it. I know, you're letting the fanboy in you do all your thinking. Like I said, I can empathize. But in time, I'm sure you'll come to the realization that it's... well... it's a stupid idea, through and through.
Like you did when you said DWVII sold more than FFVII? lol Yeah, okay. Dude, you're making this too easy for me.
People have been asking for a remake of this game since before they thought of doing remakes, lol. If they were going to take that step, they'd have done it by now. But they haven't. Because, and this may sting a little, but they know a lot more about what NOT to do as a game company than you do. As I said before, you're letting your inner fanboy do the thinking for you. It's not a good idea. It will never be a good idea.
