Well this is disappointingGreetings,
As mentioned in the Producer Letter, the first phase of the Beta Test will take place in Gridania, and as such will only include the classes that have guilds found within Gridania.
That said, please remember that the Alpha Tester non-disclosure agreement is still in effect, so please refrain from discussion Alpha-related content.![]()
It's not going to do much in the way of leaving a good first impression on some people who are joining us for the first time either. When you consider people were up in arms over the selection in the Alpha, how will people react to (I assume) a mostly unchanged system from the Alpha? It's all good and well to notify these players that so and so is coming in phase 3 but as I've said, I think first impressions are important.
We've seen nothing of the other classes yet though, I thought we may have seen some previews in the Blog but their plan to update twice a week seems to have gone forgotten.
from Yoshi showing off gameplay in Germany last year, i translated skills that he mouse-over. and DRG had exact same skills as before, so i expect the other classes to have same skills tooThough i guess they may have changed a little, i don't think it's any big difference. The biggest change is probably just in GCD.
Because roadmap isn't clear enough on the content being restricted in phase 1-2?It's not going to do much in the way of leaving a good first impression on some people who are joining us for the first time either. You assume to much by saying unchanged system, since alpha was outdated even before it started. And they didn't spend these past 2-3 months since alpha started, doing nothing.
People can make their first impressions AFTER beta. You shouldn't even be in beta, if your only concern is demo the game; ditch it based on incomplete content.
Well beta phase one isn't really for brand new players, that will most likely be for phase 3 and 4... phase 1 and 2 are likely just a main test by existing players...It's not going to do much in the way of leaving a good first impression on some people who are joining us for the first time either. You'll also find this disappointing:

Radacci, A beta is primarily a demonstration. There are still testing elements required, naturally, but the nature of a beta test is also do convince people to play post release. This has been uttered by Yoshida and co.
I do not assume too much. Have we been shown otherwise? We have not. It has also been stated that the battle system will not be undergoing any dramatic changes from what was seen in the alpha/alpha videos. You might assume it has changed whereas I assume otherwise. These are called opinions!
The reason I went out of my way to put "I assume" in brackets was to signal to the largely impossible reader base that it is purely speculation; my opinion. I had hoped the alarming amount of imbecility on this forum could get no worse..
My concerns for what I want to do in the beta are personal and up to me to decide and luckily, not up to you. I have a criteria of things I'd like to see, and I will devoutly test the things I find most interesting. Lastly, I don't need convincing to play the game and if you bothered to read my comment thoroughly you may find that my concern was not for myself, it is for those who have yet to play the game - those who will have the most impact on FFXIV's future.
This thread isn't just about the classes that are in Gridania, but more-so the inclusion of the classes that aren't based in Gridania for Phase 1 of beta.
I'm sure the Alpha testers would be more than happy to elaborate on the reasoning, if they knew without a shadow of a doubt that it wouldn't violate the NDA and cause them to get banned. They are just being cautious so you have no right to trash them.
Trying to answer some of these questions while not violating the NDA is like dancing on dental floss strung between two skyscrapers.Greetings,

Question keeps getting answered over and over and over... like I said it isn't like only alpha testers knew this information. Guess I didn't even need to go to the top floor of that skyscraper to answer it. LIKE I SAID HAS NOTHING TO DO with the NDA what guild have always been in Grid...

I wonder how many people will level their jobs to 35 to test out the new 35 dungeons only to get reset and have to do it all over in phase 2. Wonder if there will be boosted exp to test the higher dungeons without going through the leveling process so many times.
I forget what forum post it was, but I saw a collab here on the forums of some skills - like, a three-stacking evasion or something down, defender stance, berserker stance, ext. They were only showing mrd ones though :/from Yoshi showing off gameplay in Germany last year, i translated skills that he mouse-over. and DRG had exact same skills as before, so i expect the other classes to have same skills tooThough i guess they may have changed a little, i don't think it's any big difference.
