Actually, quite a few people have liked my posts. It's more like the hate is strong with YOU, you're only one here hating on me.
We don't need dated mechanics to have world bosses. We don't need to sit on our asses for hours to deserve rare drops. We can achieve fun, challenging content that gives us that OMG SHINY! charge and the thrill of the fight without any of this nonsense. People who like this only like it because they dont' mind wasting the time and their mindset is "well, if nobody else wants to put up with it, that just increases my chances, so I'm all for it!"
Also, lol @ "young sir." You don't know how old I am. The prejudice is strong with you, my friend.
Spawn windows waste people's time for no good reason, and greatly promote cheating. I've yet to be convinced of a single good quality to them. If you want to compete against people so badly, that's what PvP is for. PvE is supposed to be about cooperation.
@Jeronlmo above: I'm not proposing that people unable to play the game for more than an hour or two be able to get the same amount of rewards. I'm only proposing that we make HNMs less about waiting and more about playing. I'd like to spend all 8 of the hours i might play in a day actually playing, rather than spending almost half of those hours standing around waiting for the final pop window where the NM inevitably pops most of the time.
The wait time is a deterrent to participation, and that's exactly why the advocates in this thread want it- It means they have less competition. There is really no other reason to want it.
A variation on lottery spawns (where it's not just one placeholder mob) would be a lot more interesting than just timed spawn windows. Make people work for their HNM spawn. That would at least make the time spent before the pop more interesting. E.g. you have to kill a random number of the evil boss's lackeys to draw the evil boss out of hiding.
