    Fatigue hurts semi-casual players.

For example: Let's say it's Sunday and it is my day to play FFXIV right? I get an 8 hour block today but not much chance to play again (continuously) until next week, or maybe two weeks later.

You are telling me that after 4 hours I gotta go level something other than my main class, or be penalized?

This is my time, my shining moment. I watched kids, cleaned rooms, did my yard work, helped with homework, trash, dishes, vaccuming, spent quality time with the wife, took down the christmas lights (finally), took the kids to the park, the science center, the museum.

All is well. It's my turn SE. My turn to do whatever I want. You see?

You are telling me I can't level GLD for 8 hours straight without penalty if that's what I want to do? Bah.

If I'm going to pay for this game I will tell YOU what I'm going to do with my free time. Not the other way around

It seems that you got the whole Fatigue system wrong.

When you reach a certain amount of time of Fatigue you reach the first level of fatigue. That it self doesn't really do much damage in leveling but when you really hit RED line fatigue which you could by going on for more than 12 hours non stop, on the same class. Then you are truly fatigue and only way to make it reset is wait a on the day your class SP reset (Which is calculate on the day you start the class).

I am thinking that you have less responsibilities than I do. After all I have to accomplish in order to earn playtime, I don't need THE GAME ITSELF telling me not to play.

Even if the penalty was %1 the principle remians. I do not want to be told what to do during my free time.

You cannot argue on one hand how little it effects players and also argue that it is effective. Players are 50. What was gained compared to what was lost? Those 50 players are still playing.

Many potential FFXIV players are Rank 0. Simply hearing of the presence of the Fatigue Sytem was very effective at preventing them from leveling too quickly.

I have a huge responsibilities with my work but still i manage my self with my game, i haven't reach surplus not until my one and only Day off, where i really grind almost 24 hours, and i hit my 2 level fatigue, it's hard but then after tomorrow which happen to be my reset day is gone completely and until now i have yet to reach fatigue and im still gaming towards 50.

Ow, and I thought I had to bad. You have my condolences. If this game jump starts into subscription fees while Fatigue is still in place, all the hard work, all the millions of yen spent, all the high-hopes will drop when the players revolt and leave FFXIV alone completely.

I see this exact situation happening. I myself am one of those ppl who will flat out quit if they expect me to pay with sysch a feature in place.

I think my post had an overly challenging tone and I apologize. I have 4 kids, including 5-year old triplets, and I think even hardcore gamers would wonder: what the hell am I thinking trying to play an MMO?

The ideal is not to play a bit each day, but rather to take care of anyhting and everything and then plop down at 5:00pm on Sunday and play until 3:00am. By that time of the week I certainly feel like I've earned some fun time. 2~3 hours in, I hit fatigue and I don't want to switch. I am being penalized for having very little free time.

A decent compromise would be to exempt fatigue for players below a certain maximum playtime each week, independent of class.

So if I only play 10 hours this week, I can play them all on GLD with no penalty.

No matter what I think, the OP is correct. Fatigue is hurting the overall success of the game, and that just can't be denied.
