Ya I mean it's an alright idea. I just don't think it's necessary and it's more fun to have game time.

That's not what this is at all. WoW is an example, but it's not what led me to post this. For me, it was my frustrations with Vanadiel time.Another one of those "I wish they would add (or remove) this to the game because WoW"...
You know, It's fine to hate WoW and everything, I'm not that fond of it either, but it is a very poor attitude to say that just because WoW had something, it must be bad.
I REALLY hate it when people use "oh, look, a WoW idea" as a reason to shoot down a suggestion. WoW isn't the bain of our existence or anything.
You really don't need 2 different kinds of time, nor is anyone "forced" to play always in day or night. You don't have to have major events only playable at day or night, and the definition of day and night is usually loose enough that most people can play at least some of the time in each.Doesn't really matters if 24h ingame are equal to 1, 2 or 3 hours you still need 2 different type of time.
Unless you're a doctor or someone else who constantly works more than 12 hours a day, you should be able to get some play time both in day and night. And if you're one of those people, you probably don't have time for an MMO in the first place. Just my opinion. Not intending to state it as a fact.

If somebody only can play at nighttime, he never sees daylight ingame and thats big bullshit.
Even for regional servers you will have differences of ~6-8 hours and we don't know if we got events that are based on ingame time or mobs that only spawn at night.
Sry but there are way too many problems for a 24h ingame day. We gonna need day/night cycles of 1-3 hours
No thanks. Nothing appeals to me with this idea. Either I would be forced into only getting to play at night, which would get old fast, or potentially forced to pick a server different from that of my LS just to see daylight. Game time is perfectly fine as it is, there is no need to change it.
what ever happened about talking about stuff that mattered in game, day night already works. if it aint broken dont fix it.
OP:
I won't like it. Anyway people that can play only at precise hours of the day won't never see the beautiful day/night of Eorzea! I like as it is!
Im happy with a 1hr in RL = 1 game day.
Not enough Facepalms
Or sometimes you live six time zones away from your friends and can only play with them in a very specific time frame like say, friday 11PM to saturday 4 AM and that would preclude you from ever playing with them during the day.Unless you're a doctor or someone else who constantly works more than 12 hours a day, you should be able to get some play time both in day and night. And if you're one of those people, you probably don't have time for an MMO in the first place. Just my opinion. Not intending to state it as a fact.
Also this sort of idea, as has been said many times in this thread I think, would also preclude the existance of time-of-day-based content of any sort. Whereas it is true that 1.0 had, I believe, only 3 NMs that had time of day limits, it is one of various tools that can be used to enhance gameplay (Even if I absolutely hate spawn camping and whoever does that should die a horrible, painful death, tieing content to the time of day is not nescessarily bad either)
You don't need to be a doctor to get home when it allread gets dark or is allready. And even if you could play 1-2 hours in the morning most ppl got other stuff todo before going to work.
This won't work well for alot ppl cause of work or timezone issues.
I also don't really like this idea. I played WoW for 7 months and got tired of only seeing night (actually I'm not even sure if it was night. It was more of a never ending light gray time. It might have been an early dawn that lasted for 3 hours). Sure 1 hour for a day might be a little too short, but at least it lets me see the different times of day
