Do ppl remember when we first started to see the End of an Era vid? We saw teasers which didn't show much and as the time got closer to the end we saw more and more until we finally all got to see the full vid when the servers went down. One would speculate that they might be doing the same thing again with this extra stuff.

Ok, I have an observational question about the trailer.

When the new part starts, and a horde of people are shown on chocobos with the Grand Company pennants and barding; are these the other people who were warped out of the war by Lou, or are these new people that just happened to be in the area?

Discuss.

Also, yeah, I'm re-addicted to watching the trailer every time my boss leaves the office.

I put my money on that is new people...the entire new footage seems to be an anniversary celebration that bahamut didn't full cook the world and the 4 members of the circle feel our presence somehow? returning >_>

The only thing is the people you saw in the vid were all at the rune locations praying when Bahamut attacked. we have not seen Cid, E-Suma(?) or louisox who were all at ground zero.

The only person teleport in time was us the heros everyone else got save by something else that happen that what yoshi-p said that why there not so much dmg and why bahamut went off into a maze lol we just have to wait for release to understand the storyline.

You can tell the area where they appear has just started to regenerate ..the chocobos easily rip the soft grass on every step as they run and the ground seems soft..and white-ish O.o

I have a friend visiting whom I haven't seen in about 5 years. She grew up watching her brothers play Final Fantasy from VI on SNES to IX on PS1

I played the "A New Beginning" video for her, without any explanations or comments from me, I just let it run. Of course, she was all feels with Louisoix. Then the Circle people came out, and she said Y'shtola looked weird/cute.. then when she saw Than she pointed and said "He looks like Squall!" (in Spanish which somehow made it funnier to me ><)

Then I played the opening CS's of Ul'dah, again with no commentary from my behalf. She saw Than and said "Fking Cloud look alike!" I was laughing by this time until she said "He looks like Squall and Cloud's kid!" I'm like NOOOOOOOO T~T Then she said it's because he had brown hair in the first video, and he was blonde in the second one.

Just thought I'd share that with you all <_<; lol

This cant be all of the opening, it doesnt clear anything up at all.
I think i remember Yoshi saying that legacy players would get an unedited version, is this what he was talking about?
Abit disappointed, Bahamut/Louis not explained and Odin shows up out of nowhere. SE pulling a Lost or something.

Er, you're seriously over-thinking this .. this is a 'teaser' trailer, it's not presented as 'explaining' anything, beyond indicating that most of the characters we encountered in V1 have survived whatever happened .. including our chocobos .. and that only PCs (and the NPCs making up our virtual party) were whisked away in EOAE, presumably to create a way for us to survive the destruction that happened in Mor Dhona.

The point being, clearly the devastation was more localised and the populations of the main cities were able to flee and survive.

IMO, THAT's what this teaser is intended to show, the appearance of a certain mounted character was simply just another tease.

To say this trailer doesn't explain anything is to totally miss the point of it.

While the water does ripple with it receding the top of the trees bend to open the path wider even the trees not in the moon light. Unless your saying the whole image is a reflection which can't be because the trees nearest to him dont move

This is not a trailer. SE is clearly presenting this to us as ARR's opening movie.

This is a trailer. The people refusing to acknowledge this as an opening movie need to stop looking at a duck and calling it something else.

The trees, especially the roots, are clearly contracting in Odin's presence. In my opinion it's the most visually satisfying part of this last third of the video.
