And if the Game will Fail just because they will build the game around Casuals.

Sadly they should not make forums the main way to get views of players they should make a poll each months and see what the overall thinks. Hearing the same 10-20 players is not going to help us anyways.

They did those polls already and both times the casuals pretty much steam rolled the outcome.

Almost ever big named MMO has a forum these days and it would be archaic for FF14 not to have one, yes this forum is full of crappy posts but so are all the other MMO forums out there, you just gota learn to deal with it or ignore it.

Hmm... if you need my creds check out my character on ffxiah.com. I think I'm more then qualified to offer an opinion. It's a different game and it takes just as long to get them to 50. You can get a job to 50 in under a month on 11 as well. In fact you can get it much higher. If you want this to be a carbon copy of 11 then you are going to be disappointed. This game offers alot of differences and I like them.

Exactly. They did that precisely because hardcore gamers are *not* the main playerbase of any MMORPG anymore. It was the only way they had to retain decent customer numbers.

The funny thing is that I could be easily classified as quite a lot more hardcore than most of the ones complaining here that the game isn't designed around their demands. I play every day, several hours (sleeping very little helps).
The difference is that I realized long ago that I'm part of a small niche, and since I want the games I play to be successful (and a lot of people I play with), I'm quite willing to let it be more accessible to people that have less time/dedication than me.

I'm afraid you got your definitions wrong mate. Having more time doesn't equate to being "good".
The only ones that think it does are the ones that aren't good at all, and have to replace the actual meaning of "good" with "have a ton of time to waste" in order to feel part of it

I agree with you on this on many different things. I don't think the basic's of grinding is flawed though. It takes just as long in both games.
