Quest based can be dungeon runs, in GW2 alot of people level through dungeon because finishing a hardmode gains you 80% of current level while gaining shitton of money and tokens for endgame gear. Solo players will be doing quest-chains or FATE, people that prefers teamwork will do dungeons quests.

Grouping up shouldn't even be just an option for doing stuff. Remember the MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER part on MMO, anyone? It's kind of ironic really that they keep trying to make this sort of games more and more solo friendly. What's the point of making it a massive online game then? Just so you can show off your gear in a town or something?

All massive multiplayer means is a large game with lots of players all in the same persistent world. It has absolutely nothing to do with grouping.

Besides, if grouping up is really what most people want to do then you should have nothing to worry about since everyone will do it in spite of other options, right? Or perhaps you are suggesting SE should force people to do something they may not enjoy... in a game... that is meant to be enjoyed.

Here's a novel idea: play the way you like and worry less about how other people enjoy their free time.

I'm also pretty sure that some quests will be repeatable like in FFXI such as some gathering quests (like in San d'Oria where you could turn in rabbit pelts, if I remember correctly) or battle quests besides Leves.

Considering that dungeons are not soloable, I am pretty sure people will still be grouping up.

I think a game with a good group questing option as well as a solo one would be a huge win.
The leveling process isn't 100% solo most western MMOs do have dungeons, for all level ranges up to level cap. You can queue up for them and it puts you in a group with people of similar level. The devs said ARR will have leveling dungeons for people to run.

This essentially is group exp. On top of that its more fun the grindly exp parties where you stay in 1 spot kill the same mobs over and over. Instead you get to navigate through the dungeon killing the mobs along the way for exp. You get some social interaction of playing with other people.

Wow, really? 45 levels out of 50 was soloing leves for you? :\ That must have been incredibly tedious.. You should really try playing with other players more, its much less lonely and you can mix it up a bit.

For the classes I got to 50 I would party up with 1 or 2 of my friends to fight mobs or do leves together for approximately levels 1-25. Then for levels 25+ I would start doing exp parties in various areas, which was certainly a lot faster than grinding the same leves over and over and it allowed for changes in scenery.

Um, what? lol I know there's a lot of copy/paste and that was one of the big issues with the game, but you can't convince me that Ever Lakes, Emerald Moss, Copperbell Mines, and Brittlebark all looked the same.

What was nice about exp groups is that it allowed you to stray away from the aetherytes and try other places, while leves always kept you in the same small aetheryte locations. Scenery between two different locations in the same region may have been minor, but it was better than nothing and you were free to wander.
