the only difference between ARR alpha videos and GW2 alpha videos is that GW2 had some idiots standing in front of a TV spewing out buzzword trash and narrating what little was actually going on in an attempt to make it sound more exciting. and the dumbs got excited about that. and then only actually played GW2 for a month. so.

yeah these are also my thoughts, and i think its a good way how Yoshi P. wanted to do it now. well i just can speculate about that.. but i am very sure that after alpha phase (after seeing alpha clips about game elements) that we could have expected more "Bombastic" trailer, where everyone is looking for. (I mean even the Limit-break trailer counted to that)

for me, it shows most of us is afraid about these (some) negative voices too much. of course just questing around wontt hype everyone, but we know that SE planned more content than just this. (which i hoped to see in the next video).

but it seems like they stopped now. regarding those negative voices.

Tell that to dumb/biased/retarded reviewers and/or the Youtube community. OP means people OUTSIDE this community is having negative reactions regarding these videos. THEY are the ones saying the videos are boring and whatnot. Besides, we know it's the cool thing nowadays to bash on SE and anything Final Fantasy, and that's why I also think SE should wait longer before releasing those videos to the public so they can make better, more exciting ones to shut them up.

I don't know if it is possible, but If anything, I think those videos shouldn't be shown anywhere outside of these forums.

the thing about these videos is their released in the forums to keep the current players who havent gotten into the testing up on the changes... do you understand? they are not trailers.. you think you can market the game better? theres plenty of time until launch, so thats what i mean when i say dont jump the gun.

Perhaps it's just the way that I think but I honestly don't see these videos as boring.. not to say that they are exciting to an outsider with no perspective as to what's taken place with this game.

The Alpha videos to me are just a basic outline if you will.. they aren't really that in-depth and I don't think they are meant to be. They're just showcasing the very basics.. Now when we get into the Beta phase I fully expect to see some videos focused heavily on things like combat and the like with a little more flair, like showing off limit breaks and what not..

They're demonstrating core aspects of the gameplay from the alpha version, what are you expecting?

What Square Enix is showing is representative of the content available to players in the alpha version; nothing more, nothing less.
