When a company tells X to its paying customers and then does Y which happens to be the opposite of X, a percentage of those customers will lose a certain amount of trust in that company. It's a very simple and straightforward marketing rule.

It's not blind faith Read the letters he keeps saying that Alpha is going smoothly, very little problems, and a even a few people that I know has told me Alpha feels like it should be in Beta. So again Don't know what your talking about.

I'm not making anything up, my friend. The "- Must currently have an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account" clause is coming from the horse's mouth, as it's's clearly written on the application form, which is the only document that people applying to the alpha are required to read.

Whatever Yoshida may or may not have said somewhere else simply doesn't have the same value, as applicants don't have the responsibility to go look up whatever he says on some obscure forum post or interview.

Your (this is the correct use of "your" by the way) reading is very selective. There's a ton of people complaining. As a matter of fact, I didn't even open any of the threads in which they do. The fact that I don't let you have it your way doesn't mean I'm the only one.

If you have that approach, it's your prerogative, as it's mine to require a bit more verification before starting to sound the victory fanfare.

Letting it go equates to give SE the signal: "it's ok Square Enix, do whatever you want, no matter what you tell or publicize, we'll still look forward to what you'll do next and we'll stop dwelling in the past".

But before the "shit happens" is forgiven and forgotten, normally an intermediate step is required. It's called "addressing the situation and making amends". That step didn't happen, and that's a problem.

Abriael you need to let it go. It's gone beyond disappointment to scapegoating and shifting blame to make yourself feel better. Alpha is almost over and you're still screaming bloody murder. Learn some patience and wait for Beta, which will be the better product to play on.

I'm afraid you didn't get it straight at all. For the longest time since the opening of the application until pretty much the final event, whoever tried to register for the alpha with a lapsed account was bounced with a message that said something like "you don't have an active account, piss off" (I paraphrase).

Only afterwards application was opened to everyone, without any change in the "active account" clause.

So no. "active" account doesn't mean what you think it means. It means what it means everywhere else in the industry, which is paying and able to play.

Why does it give you a headache exactly? You're not forced to read threads like this at all. The topic is self-explanatory, so if you find them so terrible, why do you read them?

Now you have any responsibility to defend a company that obviously doesn't feel the need to defend itself on this matter. As much as I'm not "letting it go" (I really have no reason to, considering that my concern hasn't been in any way addressed), you're always here yourself bending over twice to make excuses for them and throwing personal attacks because you don't get your way.

It seems to me that your "headache" is entirely self-inflicted.
